Anyone who has not rated the value of good Ruckman.....

Silly me, of course it is.
I really should turn my bullcrap filter back on (Rookie draftees are often older, but he was at the U18's last year) ~ I could end up looking stupid.
Roosy would be interested in Mark Jamar or Paul Johnson? Wow, that sounds odd.
I wonder whether Greg Stafford would like to finish his career back home? I'm feeling very soft heart/headed post premiership!
The thought of Fevola at the Eagles has some appeal

I don't know if that is a response to my post, but basically I am trying to demonstrate that our opposition have just as much a problem in finding ruck options as we do.
If, IF, Doyle can stay on the park, we have no worries. However, therein lies the worry.

I don't think that the club can pin its chances of back to back premierships on Stephen Doyle staying fit.
We hate Anthony Rocca
We hate Shannon Grant too
We hate scumbag Gaspar
But Leo WE LOVE YOU!

Sorry, I did actually read your post to mean we were looking at that list for another ruckman. But your absolutely right, a good big man is hard to find.or so I've been told.
Originally posted by penga Where else would we find a ruckman? From opposition teams, I can't think of any solid options.
scour the lower grades. if we can't find a skilled ruckman, then a tall, mature body that can at least make a contest is worth having on the cheap as a backup.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

The next Bryan or Hudson rather than Miekeljohn (spelling).

How hilarious would that be? A great player, great heart, but in terms of the number of times he got on the park he'd make Nick Daffy look like a long-term club stalwart!

I reckon we should trade in White, then decide that he's so good we need only one ruckman, and leave Jolly languishing in the twos. Just because the world needs a new definition of irony.
maybe there's some good options in the WAFL or SANFL. sometimes there are 21-25 yr old blokes who take some time to develop but might be ready for a crack in the bigtime
