Explain to me what Warfe did wrong today?
He was hardly on the ground, and when he was he did some nice things, including hitting O'loughlin on the chest with a 50m pass that resulted in a goal.

Please enlighten me on what the man did wrong today?

By the way surely O'Keefe must come in ahead of Lewis Roberts-Thompson.

I just love LRT (sydney boy and all that) and I don't like warf. I could put such prejudice aside for an outstanding prospect but Rowan is not that. Okeefe is a wingman/midfeild/forward.
LRT could be anything down back with a bit of luck.

I think you'll find Fixter may come in for Warfe.

Warfe did no wrong from little opportunities today, but it's fair to say he would have been discarded a few weeks back if Fixter or Seymour were available.

Warfe made no mistakes today, however the fact he is getting so little playing time means when Fixter is ready to come back he'll be dropped. The best thing Warfe can do when he gets dropped is not to let it worry him, just go to Canberra and focus on his game, try and get a bit of the footy and make sure he puts pressure on the others in the team.

Did Warfe have less match-time than Powell or Meiklejohn?

It's not hard to see that Warfe is far more highly regarded by the club than by his handful of critics on this board, and his demotion is by no means certain while the team keeps winning.

I think Mickeljohn may be in the 2's this week unless Roos is prepared to play him for at least a half. He needs the game time, thats all, imho.

Roos said after the game that he was rapt with what Warfe did when he was on... so I guess this discussion is really just academic. He'll be there next week regardless.

I think the only reason to omit players at the moment is to give them some game time, especially the youngsters. Roosy has already blooded three kids this year, I think at season's end he'd probably like 6 rookies to have a taste of the big time.

One reason I can see for dropping Warfe would simply be to give him some decent game time in the twos. He could actually be an important player for us later in the year when younger bodies get sore and the going gets tough. A few full games might actually help him. That said, he didn't do much wrong today and will probably be in next week.

Depending on how he went in the ressies, LRT might be a chance to come in at Meiklejohn's expense. Meiklejohn has had three games in the seniors and that's not a bad run for a player who no-one would have expected to play senior footy this year. If Roos wants to keep giving the youngsters a go on a rotational basis it would make sense. Ball and Goodes seem to be carrying the ruck pretty much on their own at the moment, and LRT is a the right size to play a similar role to the one Meiklejohn is playing in his limited on field time.

Why are so many calling for LRT. Seriously, not many would have seen him play themselves. Having seen him first hand myself on a few occasions and know from those who have played with him, he is set for a run in the seniors.

BTW Warfe, as much as i dislike him, did not do much wrong against his old club in limited game time.

In Warfe's defence, he only played minimal game time (maybe 15 mins or so) and when he came on he got straight into it and set up (forget who) for goal. I just think it is unfair for him only playing 10-15 mins each game. Give him a go in the 2's or give him more game time in the seniors.

I think Meiklejohn needs a game in the 2's - thought he looked slow.

Anyway, we shouldn't be picky but just happy that we won. All players made mistakes (some worse than others) but like the commentators said, you have to take risks when playing a team like Brisbane. In the end, it paid off.

This was a beautiful kick - straight to Magic who kicked a goal. For the limited time he was on he did okay I thought.

yes rowan had limited game time, but played well when on the field. don't think he made any "major" mistakes to warrent his dropping!!
