    Get on the Bandwagon

If we continue to play the way we have in the last 3 weeks, i think a top four finish is a big chance, as long as we keep at it and don't go off the boil, as we've been known to do, i think the top four is a real goal.

At this stage I think the boys should just be concentrating on getting into the finals, and if we manage that it will have been an excellent rebuilding year. We still have to get a couple more debutants into the team yet. If we loose sight of the rebuild, then we will pay for it in seasons to come. Slowly slowly I say. So far , so good.

IMHO we need to worry about next week's game, not the finals right now. There's still way too far to go before the finals become a reality. If we worry about each game and focus on that, the finals will take care of themselves.

We cannot afford to lose to a struggling team after our efforts of the last 3 weeks - it would be a waste of those hard fought victories.

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Next weeks game should be our easiest yet. Geelong, at home, after a trip west.

We have passed the hardest part of our draw this year and have come out 4-3 (I had hoped for 3-4 at best). We are definately in line for a top 5 finish. Would be nice to find another KPP backman before the finals.

        PS. Rebuilding is overrated!

The old Swans we know and love would lose next week, undoubted.

It has always been in our makeup, '96 aside, to drop our guard against sides who are considered inferior.

Next week is a real test of whether Roos has got inside their head or not.

A real tough mental test coming up!!

As well as a mental test it will be more than that.
Geelong are playing ok at the minute, pushing two top four teams right to the end. However us playing at home and them travelling after perth, we will be the huge favourites.

Dont get overly cocky. Although we beat two top teams, it is still early days. We will probably lose to the lesser Geelong if everyone manages to talk it up like this, but the hardes part is behind us, keep going and improving PLEASE!!!!

It is true that we will be huge favourites, just stating reality and I did mention it is a danger game as well

Get ON the bandwagon? That's discriminating against those of us who didn't get off!

Again, I'm not overly confident going into next week's match, and I damn well hope the boys aren't too full of this win - it's big, but it's just another match, another four points up for grabs next week and so shouldn't be any bigger or lesser than any other. Come on boys, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

No no, your post must have popped up while i was typing mine.

I was listening to conversations on the way out of the ground today and eeryone seemed pretty content that we were in contention for top 4. We can beat the top but relaxation now will be criminal

I don't expect a top 4 and we may not even make finals. However, we are a good shot of doing so if we can maintain our very recent form, which is a big 'if'!!

More importantly however, we look like a potentiall very good team in the next couple of years, particularly with a number of good 190+cm young athletes in the reserves.

                        we will win

I'm confident we will beat the Cats be at least 40 pts and put money where my mouth is. Bloods are flowing

Hope we win next Sunday - all depends on what happens with Magic.
He is playing so well - I know he is not the team - but a very vital part in the team play at the moment.

We have to beat Geelong and win well - give us some percentage - very tight around us.
                          Love those Swans

Fantastic win and it's good to get excited seeing how well we are playing, but I wonder if some are going a little over the top at the moment.

Still, the interesting thing is that after the game the rooms were fairly quiet, rather than a huge celebratory atmosphere. I think the boys were pretty stuffed. Hopefully they realise what they can do if they really work at it, rather than thinking that they are now world champions!

I agree. Things are going incredibly well at the moment. But I'm still expecting the young players to put in erratic efforts throughout the year. Traditionally we play terribly against the Cats at home.

Seeing the youngsters building in stature when pressed by both teams over the last 2 weeks has been very heartwarming. And quite unexpected, considering the efforts against Freo Adelaide and Hawthorn.

But playing as HOT FAVOURITES will be something new for many of the young pups. How they handle being favourites remains to be seen.

Still the most important thing is that we are developing incredibly as a unit. And the young kids are not only getting a game, but are making an impact.

We are a far healthier footy club at the moment that for the last 4-5 years. Confidence is an amazing thing!

                              Let's keep it going!
