You don't need a tattoo to be less worthy...

Monday, I got a Swans logo (you know the red V with the Sydney Opera House points and the swan) on right ankle. I made a vow to myself when I was fifteen (um that's....27 years ago) that when they won the Premiership, that's what I'd get. As I usually wear long sleeves (don't do sun) I wanted it somewhere that people would see it.

When it's all nice and healed I'll post a photo :-)

PS Don't tell my mum. She nearly had a heart attack when I got my first one.

I plan on going down with my ship, if ever the need arises.

Seriously - getting a tattoo is something I'd expect players who played in the game to do. I'll happily bask in the glory of being reigning premiers for the next year, but at some stage there has to be a separation between my identification with the win, and that of the people who actually achieved it. For me, a tattoo is beyond that point of separation.

For me, The tattoo is about identifying with the club, not the win. The win is just the triggering event (*cough*it will never happen*cough*).

No tatt for me. Don't believe in 'em.

Though that might be more about my complete cowardice when it comes to unnecessary pain. If that needle comes anywhere near me, I might disgrace myself by fleeing, screaming shrilly like a wussy girly-man.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I think it is each to their own.
I like tattoo's i have a couple already, but adding this one is just my way of experiencing the premiership and my thoughts about my support of the club.

                          I'm looking forward to Saturday.

I'm getting a tat cause I'm proud of my club and the ethos that won them this premiership and I want everyone to know. Even if we don't win another premiership in my lifetime the tat will remind me that, in situations where everyone is telling me I'm useless and wont achieve what I am trying to do, it is possible to rise above it and achieve.

Aside from that I live in Perth and I love sticking it to those weak chardonnay sipping Weagles supporters

Won't be getting one. Good luck to those that do.

Whoever mentioned the touch up after two weeks and how it should be free

Shouldn't need touching up after two weeks or get a new tatooist!!

mine was originally gonna go on the heart but i then thought of the pain involved on that rather fleshy region of my body so now ive decide to put it on my back, ive also found an old south swan logo http://www.fullpointsfooty.net/Sydney_part_1.htm, i have bastarized it a little bit but it beats the rather tame looking swan logos that we have had in the past
