I was wondering about this - and when I read Bron's match report on the GF, I was pleased to find out that yes, he did - see here

Very happy that he got to see the Swans win another premiership!

In case you're wondering, this is the text of his speech at the 2004 guernsey presentation.

Reading it again, one quote stood out:

"...in many ways a Fighter Squadron reminds me of a football team. Same age group, 26 pilots at full strength to a fight Squadron, a need to practice one's skills over and over and over again until one is able to act purely by instinct. In an emergency, survival could, for us, well depend on choosing the right option. I could well be talking about footy couldn't I? Relentless honing of skills, eye on the ball, choosing the right option. Recipe for survival..."
Just watching the final minutes of the GF, his words came true in the end - all the practice they've had in forcing stoppages, ball-ups, throw-ins and winning contested ball really came to the fore on Saturday, and it was this that won us the premiership!

Sure, we were criticised for playing ugly during the year, but in truth the way we play is the ideal practice for the desperation of the dying stages of a grand final with the game up for grabs.

I spent a while talking to Charles. A fabulous man. He and his son drove down for the game and had tickets courtesy of the Club (excellent behaviour on the Club's part, I thought). He was just over the moon. I was honoured to meet him again.
