I've been teaching my five year old the club song since saturday. We watched the game on video last night together. By half time, he had given me six solo renditions in full voice. He fell asleep next to me in the third quarter and I watched the rest of it alone.

Had tears in my eyes at the end (first time for me for this game), continued when the players received the medallions and when we lifted the cup.

I'm so proud of the Swans and of my little fella. I think he has earned the right to attend games next year. Looking forward to barracking and singing the victory song together.

Well done, it's the only way. Both my niece and nephew knew all the words by the time they were two and a half, although they had no idea what they were singing Words like 'honour' don't mean much to toddlers. I recommend buying a swans teddy that sings the song. That helped us a great deal

Just be careful though, those munchkins pick up a lot of stuff. The boy came up with some gems this year such as "Why don't the umpires use their BRAINS!", and "Those Eagles aren't showing us any RESPECT!"

Lol And I'm guessing that you guys sit in the family-friendly part of the ground otherwise there'd be much worse coming out than talking about umpire brains and respect!

No we're in the Churchill, but thankfully we have a few families around us and no foul-mouths

He can read pretty well now though and knows how to use the internet, so I'd better make sure he doesn't stumble on this site

My unborn baby has been to 8 matches this season, including the GF...first "live/born" one should be against Essendon in round 1 2006.

We are working on the theory that they experience all the things that happen before they are born. He/she will be a little Swan for sure

My little man will be 2 next month (eek!), and had a membership before he was born (courtesy of my sister). We didn't know if he was a boy or a girl, so until he was born he was known as "Baby Hoy". Had his first Swannies photos earlier this year with Tadhg, Stuey and Benny Matthews, when the Swans played Collingwood at Newcastle (our home town).

My sister has a lot to answer for.... Jem's first words were Mum, Dad, duck and Barry. He can name several players without prompting, and refers to ROK as Duck-Butt (heehee!). Will ask for a rendition of "Cheer Cheer" when he's bored, and will point and yell "Tackle!" during games. Sometimes my sister will tell him the story of how he's drafted when he's 19 and goes on to win the Brownlow in 2025 (taking his favourite auntie, and Uncle Barry, to the ceremony!).

His father is a Newcastle Knights fan, so there's been a fair bit of tension in our household. Sometimes I hope he'll just play tennis or soccor. But I think the odds are stacked against hubby.... I'm sure Jem's got red and white blood!
