    New Blood

    Hi Guys

Long time reader first time poster.

Unfortunately living in Brisbane - we are a bit sheletered on all things red and white.

Question I have is, apart from Hally and Mick (the obvious ones) and to a lesser exten Lukey V, do we have any key position tall forwards floating around in the 2's. I noticed Guy Cambell in the GF Sprint and his bio says he is over 190cm - anyone able to give me the good word on his progress. Or is there someone else??maybe Heath Grundy??

The reason is the 2 boys above are getting close to 30 and our forwards kick an awful lot of goals compared to our midfield.

    Cheers

Most of the young talls like Grundy are rookies, a lot of the untried are smaller like Schmidt and Willoughby. It would be nice to snare an early pick and get a Ryder, Kennedy or Clarke from the draft. All are from WA but come with excellent credentials.

I've been wondering exaclty the same thing actually. Living in Ballarat the revamping of the reserves competition means I can no longer go along to the footy and scout the future talent. Unfortunately most of the swans reserves are nothing more than names and numbers on a piece of paper to me. I would also be interested to hear if we have any future kp prospects in the 2's.

The club has consciously sought midfielders at the past three drafts. One result is that we have the delightful problem of trying to fit Malceski, McVeigh, Moore, Schmidt and Willoughby into the team.

The other is that we don't have a lot of talls coming through - Vogels and Roberts-Thomson are really the only two, although Grundy is a good chance to develop into a key defender.

I would imagine that the club is comfortable with Hall, O'Loughlin, Barry, Roberts-Thomson and Vogels as our talls for the next couple of years, and will then look to pick up a couple more over the next two years. Certainly, we don't look like needing more midfielders.
        We hate Anthony Rocca
        We hate Shannon Grant too
        We hate scumbag Gaspar
        But Leo WE LOVE YOU!

I guess they have more pressing priorities this coming off season rather than worrying about the future of the already impressive forward line

Just would hate to see any of them leave or be injured for any length of time - would make life very difficult. - Would make the probable trade of saddington a bit of a bummer cause he has the ability to play forward or back.

I too dont think we need anymore midfielders - I like the look of Mal and feel a bit for Macca - but am certain there game time will increase next year
