Yes. Not for the first one, but for the kicking in the last quarter, its reasonable to assume that his coordination was a little out of whack.

To me, the fact that he was able to take those marks with concussion was very impressive. That he couldn't kick so well... unsurprising.

I'm not really sure why you find that hard to believe. He's kicked very well all year - 51.24 going into the GF, and suddenly has four or five shockers in a twenty minute period. But you can't fathom the idea that there might actually be a reason for it?

This thread sums up the beauty of the Swans team. It is so even that if a couple have down days there is always someone else to step up. We simply don't rely on our gun players to get us up. Over the whole finals campaign nearly every player had at least one very good game. It was a different player/players each week.

Along with his 20 touches he does the team thing and gets 7 one-percenters as well in the Grand Final.

          I don't get it.
Well maybe you should pay more attention.

He racked up 20 touches in a third of his regular season games and kicked goals in 16 games. One goal in the four finals and 13 possessions against Geelong (his post- round four low for the season) doesn't rate "going up a notch" unless you are completely blind to his regular season form.

Round 18, v Adelaide 33 possessions was what I was hoping for. He was insanely good in an important game.

But like I said, I think it is because he consistently plays at his best, so it was no slight on him.

I think his conversion figures look better because he gets a lot of his shots close to goal. I have a feeling that a lot of his from deeper go OOTF or don't make the distance or he tries to pass them off. His kicking certainly lacks penetration and he did miss that shocker against the Eagles in Perth. I think his shooting for goal can certainly improve.

Has nothing to do with "Strange it didn't affect his leading, marking, gathering and handballing, which were all great... " nor with him having the yips on his first kick.

Because his kicking style was strange all game. Lacked its normal fluidity.

Have to agree with those that think it was simply a case of the yips. There is a lot more co-ordination invloved in running full speed while keeping your eye on the ball and not spilling it than there is in something as simple as a set shot.

Having said that though, a premiership is not won in a single game and MOL has been a star all season.
