    My flag story....

    Let's start in 1996.
I went to the GF parade.
I chose not to go to the grand Final because in my heart I really didn't think we could do it.

My dream was to make my first grand final one wher ethe Swans won.
So watching the 96 game was hard, but no real surprise.

This time around I was up and down.
Before the Saints game I was saying that whoever wins that game will win the flag.
Playing either West Coast or Adelaide at the MGC was always going to be a great opportunity.

But, I had a commitment that weekend which I could not avoid.
    So I didn't get a ticket

Thurs night I found out that I could actually go to the game.
I struggled on the internet and 'just' missed out a couple of times for reasonably priced tickets.

My ex wife told me that she had been offered a ticket by an ex player who was one of her clients, but she said no.
When I said "DUH..... ME!!!!!" she tried to get it and he had given it to someone else.

Then I logged on RWO and there was a post by Anne selling a ticket.
I emailed (3 times) and she came through.

I met Anne and he hubby and brother and they are really nice and got my ticket and went off to my seat (great seat) before the game started.
Grabbed a paper to look at to take my mind of the imminent game.

At 1/2 time I dared to allow myself to dream.
All day I though we had a big chance to win and I thought we would.
Then the game went the way it did

At the end I was sitting diagonally opposite to the Leo mark, and I was watching the big screen and saw players jumping on him.
Didn't hear the siren, but it all set in pretty quickly.

Had a smile on my face all night.
    Got pretty drunk in celebration.
And now I still don't sort of believe it.

When I get the DVD I hope it was all finally sink in

Oh, and a BIG thanks to Anne (& Andrew) for what they were able to do for me.
I will always remember their involvement in helping make my dream come true.

I would be depressed as well as excited if they had won and I could have gone but missed out...
