I don't think Stewie is playing at his best.He seems to be trying too hard .His bloopers in the second half were worrying .They seemed to be more noticeable 'at the game' and not so apparent on the TV .His 'kick-ins' were indecisive and too often mis directed, as captain he calls( and receives) the ball when he is not in good position to use it and he continues to kick out on the full.I am a maxie fan and his speed and tackling are without doubt but i wonder if the captaincy is too great a responsibility.

I think it's a huge burden on Stewie. But I'll say that he's still the best bloke out there for the job. I'd like to see a bit of pressure taken off him by appointing just one or two VCsOnly 9 notes? How easy can it be! -
I think Maxie is still our most experienced player and he will come good in the next few weeks.
I actually think even though we are not getting the best out of Maxie right now, at least that leaves the other guys (contenders for the job) to continue to star for us without that burden, ie Willo, Goodesy, Cressa and Saddo. The Pain of Discipline is Nothing Like The Pain of DisappointmentComment

I actually think Maxfield's been doing pretty well. OK, so he hasn't been starring, but then its been difficult to do that with Goodes out on the ground. But he's been fairly consistent, is doing more of the "hard stuff" than in the past and has kicked some important goals. Sunday wasn't his greatest match ever but nor was he terrible.
I certainly haven't seen anything that suggests to me the burden of captaincy is a problem. Specially while the team is winning!Comment

He's not dashing down the wings and delivering his left footed arrows or 55 m goals on the run. He seems to be mopping up on the half back flank which, IMO doesn't suit him as well."I'll acknowledge there are more talented teams in the competition but I won't acknowledge that there is a better team in the competition" Paul Roos March 2005Comment
