2003: Swans v Carlton

Fox footy is currently airing all games from season 2003, 2004, 2005

Happened to switch on and find Carlton v Swans...and was happy to relive these moments..

1. Adam Schneiders first touch in AFL
2. Nick Davis first goal as a swan
3. A fit stephen doyle creating problems in the goal square, even diving and lunging at balls on the turf! (NB: did his knee later in this game)
4. Matthew Nicks as a serious go to in the forward line
5. Adam Goodes playing like a man posessed in the ruck
6. Saddington... well what can you say, never looked comfortable in the back line
7. Leo Barry - playing a true CHB role, constantly rebounding out of defence, and not playing on a gorilla
8. Tadgh playing in the midfield

All these things seems so long ago when you look at the team that just went all the way... can only wonder what the next few years has in store for us all

Do you know if they will be showing the Swans V Lions prelim final game of 2003? Super game that and a super result in the end.

We lost that game! Unless you're talking about the 'super result' the following week - Collingwood losing another grand final!

Yeah, the Port Adelaide game was a thuper rethult but the Lions one? Bleaugh.

i believe they are playing every game of the season, i assume that will include all finals and the GF of each season as well.

Yep all games from 01-05 for the whole summer. My hard drive on my DVD recorder is going to get a huge work out recording all of our wins...

Games i'm looking forward to.

2001 - Luff's last game
2002 - Kell and Dunks last game
2003 - Anzac Day match (10 Goal last quarter)

I caught the last quarter of the first game at Telstra Stadium against Essendon in 2002. Some of the names long gone included Bennett, Brockman, Cresswell, Dunkley, McPherson, Mott, Schwass, Seymour, Warfe. Its amazing to see how much the team has evolved in such a short space of time.

Actually, I'll pass. Last I heard of him, he couldn't get a game...at Carlton!

But with Fox Footy and a DVD recorder you could put together a stunning compilation of the Swans' best quarters in the last three years. There have been some sensational bursts!

Couldn't agree more... that game... Adam Schneider's goal from 50 out on the run, turned me from a Swans 'supporter' to a Member... absolutely brilliant quarter of footy.

i like it in the 2003 game against carlton where kevin bartlett calls schneids "schneeder". dont know why but it cracks me up every time i see it

Also can't forget our game against the pies in 03. Celebrating our team of the century by wearing the TOTC guernsey we manage to pull of a huge victory. Nick Davis sealing the match = GOLD.

Maybe when we went on the next week (or perhaps the wk after) to beat the Lions... both grand finalists in the space of a couple of wks...
