    Good DVDs for the off-season?

I ordered a copy of the GF on DVD, and while I was at it thought I'd lash out and get copies of the 2003 Qualifying Final and the 1989 GF (after all, it will be a longer than usual off-season coming of the high of Spetember this year).

Anyone have any recommendations from their DVD collections? I've heard a few people talking about the 2003 highlights DVD, is it worth getting?

        These are MUSTS; 2005GF; 2005PF; 2005SF; 2003QF (port); 1996PF; 1996QF (poos&wees); 1987 rd 17 (bummers).

There are lots of other classics (a couple of Kangaroo thrashings come to mind, as well as others from 1987, defeating pies by 91 in rd 1, footscray by 108 the following week)..but i'd start with these magnificent 7.
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

The '03 season highlights is a crap DVD made without heart or soul for the incredible achievement it was.

I hope that really do a grand job on the 2005 year. So much drama, so much ticker, so many wonderful passages of terrific play and so many passages of sheer gutsy play. All the way through to the greatest Grand Final of the modern era!

If they balls that up, then they will never get it right.

Don't use that sort of language around here. As of Sept 24 2005 that game is behind us.

Round 7 1994 vs St.Kilda, if only to see the shape of things to come...especially the shape of Peter Caven's nose.

Plenty of highlights dvd's on the market. The Ch 7 ones were good. Name of the game and 90's tape.

The Centenary tape in 96 was good.

95 State of Origin. Vic vs SA. Lockett in the pocket and Ablett at FF.

In 96 the Swans had a highlight tape with Barassi being interviewed and each Rd reviewed.

I have a break from footy and catch up with Law and Order on Foxtel.

Still remember that day! Very early on in my football-fan career, and GOD did I hate Lockett after that day! Bastard!

As to the DVD collection, I agree with pretty much all the selections here post-94 (don't know about earlier than that!). Another favourite of mine is the Swans vs Carlton match at the SCG in 1995 (rd 7 or 8 i think) - we were supposed to get whomped by the team of the year and ended up giving them a football lesson!

My favorite memory of the Peter Caven incident was an interview that Andrew Denton did with him weeks afterwards on TV. Caven belted the cr*p out of a Lockett effigy..very funny.
