The reason Bazza tanked going for the Coleman!

The idea has caught on. This year's NRL premiers, West Tigers, and AFL premiers, the Sydney Swans, are the perfect example of teams with a less-talented list but more commitment to a team game plan that more star-studded line-ups.

On Mondays the Swans would present the weekend's game ball to the player the coaching staff felt had sacrificed his game for the good of the team. Like Auerbach, the Swans knew the only statistic that mattered was the one that showed the team had scored more than its opposition. Individual statistics did not matter - not in the semi-final against Geelong, the preliminary final against St Kilda or the grand final against West Coast.
He was playing for the free footy, the tight arse!

Yeah, I'd want Auerbach on my side too.
And Clausewitz, if that's who he meant!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

He is and has the ultimate medal but the Coleman would have looked better around Barry's neck than that boofhead Gehrig. He really should have kicked those couple of goals to win it, no-one would have thought any less of him

It was a big call. But if you are doing your bit to bind the team, that was a fair statement. And it paid off. I bet he thought it was like putting $1000 on a bet at 100 to one and seeing it come home. Who's to say - those finals games were so close that his action may have been just as much the decider as Kirk's save or Monty's goal?

I keep meeting people who met me at Subi after the QF and who would agree with that.

Selfish bastard that baz. Lets trade him.
Using hypothesis testing via confidence intervals:
Nick Davis mark inside 50 = goal
