If Cupido is still in the PSD in the 4th round, is he worth picking?

Number 1 for goals assists at Essendon in 2005 despite only playing 11 games. He was offered a one year, declined it and was then delisted. The only real attitude problem he had was being frustrated/lazy. That can change with the right guidance, perhaps in a place where they don't believe in the public humiliation drill.

Correct and he was coached by "old" coaches. Remember Roos said when he took over the side he would teach the players how to play the game.

Some coaches simply assume talented/skilled players know how to play the game.

Maybe Cupido will respond to a younger coach with superior communication skills. He has been steriotyped since he was 16 years old.

The one advantage in picking him up is that he's a guaranteed talent, when the picks are 50+ it's a chance that the players selected are longish odds to be guns.

Yeah, that was my thinking considering that this year's draft is supposed to be pretty thin.

Are our chances better trying to pull a rabbit out of the hat from a 50+ pick, or in trying to reform a talented, but underachieving player?

And this tear's draft just got thinner by one of the best picks being involved in a car accident and getting stress fractures to his pelvis.

It'll stop him training for up to three months. Players who have suffered season-long knee injuries get picked up, so Dowler will.

From all reports it will be a big risk Charlie, car accidents are a little more serious than a run of the mill knee injuries.

Reports suggest that he would be lucky to be back, running and doing contesting work within the next 18 months.

Maybe will be picked as a rookie instead or passed over to next year once the clubs get a chance to assess where he is at after 12 months.

Well, I read that he'd be back training in three months.

If it is more serious and he's still around at 52, I'd hope that the Swans go for him. We're not necessarily looking for players ready to play in 2006.

The $64,000 question. Of course, it depends on the rabbit and the talented underachieving player that you're weighing up against each other. However, thinking about Sydney's track record with late (or late-ish) picks-- MO'L, Goodes, O'Keefe, Schneider, Buchanan, plus Malceski looks very promising (not to mention the likes of Kirk, LRT, Vogels and Bevan who were completely ignored in the draft and went via rookie lists)-- I say go the rabbit!
