I think if he can improve his disposal by foot, he will be fantastic. That is the only thing I can fault in his play

To become truly elite he needs to be pinpoint off both feet and to perhaps his marking skills - whilst not a deficiency per se, it'd be great for him to play a bit taller, a la B1 who is a great mark for his size.

He has guts, smarts, stamina and run. I've never seen a bloke cop more head hits than him.
He is so hard at it, finds the footy with regular monotony and runs hard into space that I don't really care if he is not perfect on both feet.

As for playing taller, he is very short. Craig Bolton plays a different position and is much taller that Buchanan. His job is not to take a lot of marks, but to find the footy in hard situations and read the play off the packs. There is no way this bloke is a HF Flanker. An onballer and nothing else for mine.

Buchanan is an example of a few players in our side who are just peaking. eg. ROK, Kennelly, Davis, Jolly. Goodesy too I believe has top seasons ahead of him.

Hmmm, play taller. How do you propose he does that - stilts?

Bucky, if you're reading this, just keep doing whatever you're doing. You're doing fine.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

His set shots at goal in particular have been wel documented. I think his field kicking has improved, less likely to kick meat pies.

Apart from his goal kicking, I would suggest that Buchanan is close to the best at our club for finding a target by foot, particularly into the forward 50. Watch some footage and keep it in mind.

I would also suggest that Magic is his favourite target.

I agree with penga. Although his record of set shots for
goal are not good, its something that can, and probably is
                    being worked on.

But, where is he going ? IMHO he has some leadership
qualities in some games, and could be considered in a
                    leadership role in the future.

I hope he stays with #32.

So Craig has now replace Jude as B1?

Best 1 per center in our team - taken over from Kirky in that role. If he continues Brett's learning curve I'll be delighted.

I thought LRT had that role!
