    Purchases from sydneyswans.com.au BE CAREFUL

Straight after the Grand Final I ordered three posters from sydneyswans.com.au. I received a confirmation and receipt from Playbill. My credit card was charged and to me this meant they were on the way.
After three weeks I phoned to find out where they were I had to ring Playbill who I believe handle all the sales at sydneyswans.com.au I got a very rude and sullen woman telling me they would be mailed out sometime next week, I said that wasn't good enough and I received them three days later which means they must have been mailed straight after my phone call.
I paid for three posters and received four. One of them was in good condition, the other three were damaged. The cylinder was in perfect condition meaning that the posters were damaged before they were sent.
Today I received one more poster, this was by receipted mail and I had to drive to the post office to pick it up, the carton was in poor condition, it was clear that the ends had not been sealed properly and an attempt had been made to repair by Australia Post. The one poster is actually in good condition.
I emailed the club after my initial problem with Playbill and they have not acknowledged my email at all.
What annoys me most of all is that the Melbourne Office had them for sale shortly after I placed the online order, and now both posters are available at the local Balls and Bumpers shop.
So be careful if you intend to order from sydneyswans.com.au as they do not handle the merchandise themselves, whereas I believe the Melbourne office handle all their own merchandise sales!

Maybe they'd taken all the posters out for celebrations after the GF win, and just like the players, they finished up a bit worse for wear.

I read on the site that deliveries take between 2-4 weeks for most things.

Thanx for the tip, I was gonna get a stubby holder and scarf from them, but surely they cannot be damaged?

Can we order from the Melbourne office? and over the net?

No wonder there's so many Collingwood fans.

Yeah I had a similar problem - I even allowed an extra week considering there may have been a mad rush after the grand final. Still yet to recieve them and I ordered them the monday after grand final.

Having said that every other time I have ordered something of the swans shop website the service has been excellent - I wonder if managment has changed in the last couple of years.

My stuff all arrived reasonably quickly but as I've whined about before, the shirt was scrunched into an A5 padded envelope. I like to whine.

If you have problems with the promptness of the deliveries and the quality of the service, perhaps a few letters (not e-mails) to the right people at the Sydney Swans headquarters would be helpful. If we don't let them know that the subcontractors are providing poor service and spoiling the Swans' good name, how would the Swans ever find out? Certainly not from the contractors.

Copies of such letters should be forwarded to the senior management of the company concerned. The managers probably worked hard to secure the Swans' contract, and if they get enough of these letters they will not be happy at the thought of losing the contract.

The contractors and perhaps the Swans might not care enough to respond to your letter. That's fine. There's plenty of other merchants out there.

3-4 weeks is a ridiculous turnaround time for a company based in Australia IMO.

I've ordered stuff from Amazon UK that arrived on my doorstep in LESS than a week.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Can also get things delivered from the US faster than 3-4 weeks.
If they haven't got stock, maybe fair enough but otherwise seems to long IMHO

Do everything through the Melbourne Office (contact details on Swans web-site) They are fantastic & will looks after you. Also maybe you should wait until the next the Swans Shop is open of a Saturday

I regulary purchase stuff online from the uk too and it never takes more than 5 working days.

Last year i wanted to purchase the swans ladies guernsey, i emailed them to ask if it would be possible to get it any earlier than the 3 weeks as suggested, answer was best we can do is 10 working days, so i called the melbourne office and they had stock so off i went!

I cant think of a reason for such a long turnaround time!

After going to the Swans turn yesterday at the Rising Sun I suggest these problems be directly addressed to Rob Pascoe or Tony Morwood. They seem to be working very hard to please the base supporters in Melbourne, so if true to their word will act on this issue promptly.

My main problem was not the time it took for the order to arrive, but the fact that they (I believe illegally) debited my credit card several weeks before sending the order.
They appeared to send off orders to people who phoned and not in the order they received them.
If I had've known the Melbourne office were going to supply Grand Final memorabilia I would definitely have waited but their email did not arrive until I had already ordered the goods.
I'm annoyed that my emails have not been acknowledged, to whoever suggested that I sent a letter instead of an email - I think that's a stupid idea when I've ordered online, andcan't see what kind of difference it would make.
I've learnt my lesson and will not order from sydneyswans.com.au again and hope that some of you learn from my mistakes.
