Surely Fixter on the senior list is better than Shaw..Considering the rookie we choose in his stead won't be as good as Benny.

Well done to Vogels, Grundy and Shaw all the same.

Does this mean the end for Guy Campbell? I hope not.

Interesting stuff but not entirely unexpected (altho was Grundy seen as a good prospect for elevation?). Can't be too many premiership sides that have turned over 25% of their squad.

Presumably Roos has had this in mind for a while which explains why he traded away our early draft picks.

Interesting approach.. hopefully it pays off.

Well, my money's on Roos. We won the premiership in the third year of his three-year plan, so he must know what he's doing.

Recruiting players through the rookie list first isn't a bad idea though. It's just a substitute for getting kids through the main draft.

Looks like it Ez. He'd be 24 next year and too old for the rookie list.

Anyways good luck in the future Benny and Sunny. It's such a shame that injuries have cost these 2 as they certainly showed alot of talent when they had the opportunities.

Congrats to Grungy Grundy, Big Earl and Voges for being promoted to the seniors.

Well even though it's 25%, most of the blokes deleted rarely played this year.

Sad to see Sundqvist and especially Fixter go. Hope Fixter gets picked up by Brisbane and hopefully Sundqvist gets a go somewhere else as well.

On the other hand, I'm very excited about the 3 rookie promotions. They were all impressive during their stints in the reserves and I'll be anxiously watching who we pick up in this year's rookie draft. We're certainly taking no chances with Ball's retirement. We now have Jolly, Doyle, Chambers, Shaw and Ericksen on the senior list with Goodes and LRT to pinch hit if necessary.

Nine players have now been deleted from the 2005 Senior List
Wow, who would have thought so many players would be gone after we won the premiership. (Yes I realise all except Ball and Nicks played little or no senior football this year). What this means is it should mean greater opportunities for the younger fringe players like Schmidt, Willoughby, Malceski, Moore and McVeigh.

I would have given Sunny another year. I am certain he had firm buttocks.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Wasn't aware of the buttocks rating, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him re-drafted anyway.

We're not likely to get a better player with the picks we've got.

I was impressed by both Grundy and Shaw in the Wiz Cup against the Bullies.

The reserves reports had these 2 blokes right there many times and Shaw had a bit of injury time.

Interestingly Grundy was touted as a top 10 last draft and Shaw was a standout for the Allies in the 2004 U18 Titles.

Barham and his scouts seem to have a real eye for talent. If you can find 2 good rookies and have limited draft picks then the rookie system looks good to me. There always seems to be touted players passed over in the draft and hopefully we will pounce once again.

Well, it worked out as expected.

Good luck to Ben and Sunny - both very talented players that have had their careers cruelly affected by injury. Hopefully they get picked up by someone.

Well done to Heath, Earl and Voges - if we end up getting a long term full back, ruckman and full forward out of the 2004 rookie draft, it will be without doubt the single best rookie draft any club has ever had.

Incidentally, I wonder if any premiership club has ever lost mroe than 1000 games experience immediately afterwards.
