    Armstrong has been delisted.

Armstrong has showed some good signs but didn't get much of a go at the Dees.

If he were to last till 52 i would rather us get him than Guerra.

I agree. Take what we can get in terms of talent and establishing more depth. Then we pick up a young 'un. there is going to be more churn in the squad as our guys become more attractive to other clubs so it will be a case of getting some experience as well as developing the youg 'uns.

I like Armstrong (more than Guerra) but there was a fair bit of interest in him in trade week so unlikely to last into the Twilight Zone of the draft.

Don't quite see the appeal of a slow midfielder deemed not good enough by two middle-of-the-road clubs with middle-of-the-road midfields, but you never know.
His stats aren't too bad - especially for Freo - but I share your confusion as to what the interest could be. Would rather Armstrong:

Pretty much identical except that Smith gets more handballs - which you'd expect given that he's an inside midfielder and Armstrong an outside one. We don't lack for insiders - with Kirk, Bolton, Buchanan and Ablett in the best 22 alone. Armstrong would complement Malceski and McVeigh nicely. He's also younger with twice the experience... and he's had a better midfield to try and break into.

Go for Yoof - if they wanna pick more young-uns from regional leagues (i'm guessing there would have been plenty born 83/84 who were overlooked in 2001? draft who would no wbe pretty good if still playing (given the depth of the draft).

Re-treads, well it's like a dog going back to it's own vomit.

A waste for us now. We should focus on others.

IMO the Guerra thing is a riduculous joke

                Yoof.

The average team could only expect one 50-game+ player out of picks 52, 55 and 61 (and maybe not even that), but given Sydney's excellent record with the tail end of the draft, we could expect at least one plus a couple of useful fringe/backup players. In Barham/Roos We Trust.

With Schneider pinch-hitting off the bench, Moore still unable to get a game despite looking the goods, and Schmidt and (perhaps) Ed Clarke waiting in the wings, I cannot for the life of me see that we need more players of the style/size of Guerra.

Fixter and Sunny won't be redrafted in my opinion. Once you get Andrew Ireland sprouting the usual "been great triers, it's not you it's your injuries, always welcome at the club" cliches, that means your time is up.

Fixter may yet be a handy AFL player, but not at Sydney. His time's come & gone here, and we have too many fringe players similar to him. Best of luck to Sunny, but I doubt whether he'll make it elsewhere in the AFL.

Sunny would have to be a chance to be retained as a rookie but Andrew Ireland's great clubman speech is a worry for him.

                    I think he's too old.
