I'm assuming we would have won anyway without Hall. Optimistic, yes. Unless of course they had let Mathews captain the GF in Hall's absence because he was "next in the rotation".

The fact of the matter is that Hall kicked us to a Grand Final and then Captained us to a Premiership. It's hard to resist.

I agree with Kirk and Goodes. I'm not sure about it being wrapped up though.

Good point. I think he should get to captain one too.

Barry Hall. But I would'nt mind if Brett Kirk got the job either.

no question, I think definately kirk, and I would have most definately said Hall as VC but I just got this gut feeling and his name was ...JUDE BOLTON....as VC....he tough and rough as guts on the field...fearless and thats what we want in a captain so lets get him ready for being a future captain

Goodes for mine - he can influence the game around the ground just through the various roles he takes during a game.

Now Woo has suggested it - B1 for VC

heres why I wouldn't want goodes in..dont you when watchng him on the field feel like he is holding back....he is not what I consdier to be rough as guts....like he doesn't want to bend over that extra bit in case he breaks his nails etc....not saying he isn't an awesome player but surely the captaincy will require that extra mile which players like kirk, hall and B1 & B2 give every game...we sure do have a good cattle of fish to choose from huh!

Dont agree with this, I thought (my opinion only) Goodes was one of the players who really lifted in the last 5 -6 weeks. He seemed determined and hard at the ball when we needed him.

I would even rate his last month as the best he has played for us, apart from a couple of outstanding games in 03.

I would like to see Kirk or Goodes and Jude as one of the VC's.
Kirk really seemed to thrive when he was captain and as above I thought Goodes lifted when he had his chance.

I dont mind the rotation policy but I would prefer to see a smaller group i.e Kirk Goodes Bolton and Hall rotate evey 4 games??

Out of interest - I dont know where to find the captaincy info - has anyone seen comparative stats for each player for games they captained?

                          Cheers

Too right Woo. Glad I don't make the decisions.

I used to get that feeling about Goodes when Rocket was coach. Not anymore tho'. I think he is incredibly consistent and can turn a game. He's good in defence, great in the ruck, kicks a good crumming goal and is a lovely set shot.

If he's got another gear - I can't wait to see it.

nah I agree completely with the fact goodes definately lifted in the last couple of weeks...and I think that is why I wouldn't put him in as captain...to me at some games he just isn't there (mentally) but def can say he lifted when we needed him to....during the season (pre finals) I would find myself screaming "get yourself in the game goodes" , have never had to yell that at the likes of kirk, bolts, barry

can't even believe I am saying this but really have a good feeling about jude bolton, there is something about that kid. esp like the idea of a sydsider being our captain....
