I don't normally say too much to opposition supporters, but we were sitting behind the cheer squad, and those saints fans were/are so obnoxious. I had a St Kilda supporter who was a bank teller being quite rude to me on the way to the game...next time I go to that bank I'll be wearing my Sydney Swans Premiers 2005 T-shirt

He does. He does indeed.
I'm just not happy unless I'm miserable. And I whinge to some mates about the way we played that game (controlled it all day) and then went for our trademark rush in the last - but all we could do was kick points!
Then I stop and think: would I rather have us win by 4pts in the best GF ever, or serve them up a big bowl of last-quarter-whoop-arse and take all the tension out of the game?
Actually, I haven't actually answered that one yet.

That kinda quote (not saying you said it), is really obnoxious. The Cats came to Sydney as rank under-dogs and took it to the last 3 seconds.
They deserved to be bought comiseration beers not fed verbal rubbish from wobbly Swan fans thinking they were the better side all night.
I was as elated as the next person, but had no intention of ramming our performance down their throats, because it wasn't that special apart from one or two inspirational moments.
Having said that, every work of Roosy's acceptance speech was pure gold, we all know it word for word. I am even thinking about using it at the next awards night at work.

Yeah yeah.
Reminds me of the 'quote' I heard from that Geelong game. After celebrating for a whole minute after the siren went, I had to turn to the desolate Geelong supporter and his family behind me. After hearing a whole game of 'gees these Swannies are crap' diatribe, I still managed to turn to him, reach out a consoling hand-shake and add "You guys really didnt deserve to lose... not that way".
All I got in return was a dour: "Well you'll get smashed next week by the Saints. Aint no way you'll win the flag"

Mwuhahahahaha!
It's reassuring to know that every teams has these supporters. If only their class-level was as big as their gobs!

It was THE funniest thing I've heard and sat a very loud, offensive, obnoxious schmuck on his butt and finally shut his trap after 4 qtrs of the most foul-mouthed carry on in the history of my footy going (20 yrs).
It got a round of applause from both Swans AND Cats fans in the immediate vicinity. I only wish I had thought of it.

I was going to say to the hood that there was probably more to it than just the quote...often there is, but the funny quip is what you always remember, then you remember why it was said and why it was so funny
Guys we WON - why get all wrapped up in others. Feel sorry for the Geelong fan like they didn't for you as WE ARE BETTER THAN THAT!!! Every fan has D*#KHEAD supporters, but think of the genuine ones. How would you feel if you were a Geelong fan or a Saints Fan. Be humble in victory or you'll end up bitter in defeat. How long have we been in their shoes. (all those losses still bite, the the wait was worth it)
GO SWANNIES!!!!!!
2005 will live forever (or until we win another premiership)
