    Swans at Manuka in Pre-Season

At the Canberra leg of the tour on Friday, we were told that, not only will the Swans be playing the Roos at Manuka in the home & away season as usual, but we're also playing them there in week one of the NAB Cup (Saturday 25 Feb, 2.10pm).

To be honest, the announcement of the NAB fixture had passed me by, and I haven't seen anyone else posting on it, so it was good to be told on Friday. I know it's the testing area for weird and wonderful rules, and it won't necessarily be a full strength team, but it'll be good to be able to drive into Canberra to see the boys getting into the swing of things.

I expect there'll be a good number heading in from Sydney as well - perhaps we'll have to put on a special Swans members deal at our cafe to persuade detours through Bungendore?!?

It was mentioned in the 2006 Draw thread (tacked on behind the H&A discussion).

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Ok, now I've seen it. I am suitably chastened. Given the opinions expressed about our pre-season form, I can see why it wasn't given that much attention.

Remember, for those of us with a distance to travel, footy locally is always something to get excited about. Even as a venue with a capacity of only 14,000, Manuka attracts supporters of almost all the AFL teams to any game.
