    top 50 marks for 2005

I was just having a look at this on AFL.com.au. Leo's mark came in at 3.

I don't think the whole 50 are as good as in some previous years, have a look at them and see what you think.

One other query...I always thought you had to control the ball for it to be a mark...most of them did, but there were a couple...well, see for yourself.

I think the fact that teams are loathe to kick to a contest means that we don't see a lot of "speccies" anymore. Having said that, there were still some very good grabs in that lot especially No 3
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I guess like the goals it's all very subjective. I mean, I could have given Leo's mark the top 50 places.....

I was watching a game on Fox Footy from 1990, around then. In one quarter I saw more big marks than in whole games nowadays. Kind of dissapointing.

Yep - one of the reasons why AFL is not nearly as exciting as it used to be as a spectacle...

Unlike the goals of the year, I reckon they got the top 10 marks right this time. You could argue about the order but I thought McPharlin's was a worthy winner.

And yes, I agree, I yearn for the marks of yesteryear and wonder where today's Hunters, Bosustows, Knights, Barkers etc are playing their footy.

They're all playing in the AFL, but changes of playing style have made them go undercover. Sometimes under pressure, like the last 15 seconds of a grand final, they revert to type.
