Bob Davis at GF

Who thought Bob Davis was a little petty not mentioning Sydney in his GF speech before he game roosy the medal. I for one thought it was a little cheap.

Probably was - but he's old - maybe he just forgot that South had moved North.

Haven't we been through this before??? Bob's a half wit so to take much notice of him is giving him more prominence than he deserves.

Bob Davis is not a half-wit. For many of his generation the Swans will always be South Melbourne. And in some ways he was right....it could be argued that it is the South Melbourne part of the club that had waited 72 years, Sydney has waited since its creation.

Thats not how I personally feel...but its such a small thing guys.

The Swans won the Grand Final
The Bloods won the Grand Final

South rejected him before he gained legend status at Geelong

But he still has a soft spot for South

Leave the man alone in his golden years

I get a good laugh watching him on "Grumpy Old Men"

He was a legend with Richards and Dyer with "League Teams"

Show him some respect - he is an old traditionalist

Bob loves the Swans, and has for a heck of a long time. He tried to play for us, but he was zoned to Geelong I thought. He's a Geelong man through and through, but like Peter Daicos the Swans still run through his veins.

He was speaking for himself and the people like him who have been waiting decades to see the club win a flag.

That was a take off of the olf "World of Sport" shows on & in the 60's-80's. It was always fun...and at times stupid.

Media has passed both Bob and Lou by, but Foxtel and Nine seem to keep them going out of respect. I don't have a problem with it.

Bob reminds me of my Grandpa God rest his soul. A little bit annoying but harmless.

I didn't have a problem with his speech at the GF. South Melbourne is a part of our heritage and its important to recognise that fact. Being a sydneysider its taken me until this year to realise how important that link is. Thats why I thought Roos was fantastic in his GF speech with the "South Melbourne slash Sydney Swans ...."
