Swans Lay Groundwork for Premiership Defence

    Link

The Swans have lost a number of experienced players from their 2005 squad including former captain Stuart Maxfield, veterans Matthew Nicks and Andrew Schauble, key ruckman Jason Ball, and up-and-comers Jason Saddington, Heath James, and Ben Fixter.
Don't think I'd put Saddo in the "up-and comers" bracket.

"the Sydney Swans have made a number of moves towards defending the 2005 AFL premiership they courageously won" - I didn't see a single "move" in that article.

I guess they decided that to defend the premiershhip they better not let Saddo near the ball at all costs. Or as near the ball as possible for another club!

The Epoch Times (Simplified Chinese: 大纪元; Traditional Chinese: 大紀元; Pinyin: D?j?yu?n) is an independent, non-partisan Chinese newspaper which is freely distributed in nine languages and in roughly 30 countries worldwide. According to the paper, its strength are in China reporting and interest in human rights issues. Observers have noted the large amount of space it devotes to negative views on the Communist Party of China and content relating to persecuted groups such as Falun Gong. Its editorial series "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party" recently won a top award from the Asian American Journalists Association.

I didn't know the Swans Premeirship defence in 2006 was globally relevant

It was the second article in 2 days from the Epoch. The first one was a wrap of the year that was in sport.
