    tickets for away games

I'll be heading off for a few away games this year and it will be the first time that I've actually cared about getting tickets well in advance (first time taking a by-then-5 y.o). How early ahead of the game can you purchase tickets and what is the best way to purchase so that you are sitting amongst Swans fans?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

It depends where you are going to mate. You are more than welcome to join our small Cheer Squad away gathering in Brisbane and at the Port game. As is the situation with away ticketing in Perth & Adelaide as well, you call the club's membership department no later than 2 weeks prior to the game. You get tickets in a guaranteed Swans area with very few logistical hassles.

I wish the club would market it a little better so that we could have more away fans sit together. As there is definitely strength in unison. Hopefully Annette & Johnny Mac can get something going in Queensland so that we can have the huge numbers of Swans supporters based in northern NSW & SE Qld come sit with us together and share in a bit of the club spirit. It is a large logistical task to do so. But as we have seen in the amount of merchandise sold at the Irish Club in Perth on match days, the club DOES benefit muchly, if things are done correctly.

Melbourne is easy. Essendon & Geelong aside, you can just rock up at the gate, get in and sit where you like. If you make yourself known that you have travelled from Sydney and want to be around other Swans supporters, Denise will 99% of the time let you come and join in with the Cheer Squad down there too. They are seriously some of the best Swans fans this club has. Really nice friendly people with a great sense of family & togetherness.

PM me if you need any more info there Stell. Can even set you up with people to catch up with in every state if you'd like.

One of my great memories was my first trip to melbourne for a swans game, in 2nd year uni - 1998. Drove down with 2 mates ona thursday. The best thing was being able to watch 3 games in a weekend. MCG North V Freo, Waverley for Dogs v Swans (when the ump didnt give mick o a free), MCG for Carlton v St Kilda (Winmar went crazy).

The best experience was just being at a ground where you were outnumbered.

I'd try and see more than a swans game if you have the time.
I will be a member again when I return.

If the games you wish to go to are at the MCG, don't worry about it. It won't sell out.

It's very rare that you would need to buy a ticket more than a week in advance, but you should be able to get them before that if you wish. That doesn't necessarily hold true for games outside Melbourne though, as far as I know. I've never been to Perth or Brisbane and I've only been to Footy Park once - wasn't that a lovely day, JF?

Errin, Tuesday Satchmo,Stachmo's daughter and I - are heading to Melb for the Essendon game - so when should we get the tickets? Seems that Thicketmaster are only concentrating on Commonwealth Games & Grand Prix events at the mo.

            Help required please!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I think there were 117 there when the Swans Res played Queanbeyan. The kids run around most of the day, kick to kick pre-game, 1/4 time, 1/2 time, 3/4 time and after the siren. Dads can saunter out and listen to the coach at 1/4 time and 3/4 time. Beer is usually in cans ( ) but usually cold ( ) and there are usually pies, sausage rolls and a BBQ on offer. Last season admission was $7 adults, $2 kids. There are no cheersquads, you can hear the players swear at each other on the field and you can be fairly certain that any abuse that you choose to hurl at a player or umpire will be heard by him and/or his mum. Great day out. And the standard of footy on display is good - except v Weston Creek.

Yeah but it still sounds like a good - and reasonably cheap day out.

Telstra dome games tickets are only available from ticketmaster 14 days before the actual match day. We found that out last year after travelling an hour to Bendigo 21 days before the match

thanks for that info - we have our accomodation booked (we got the last apartment in Melbourne - not realising that the Grand Prix is on the same weekend!) so now all we needed was the tickets.

I'm sure you could see more than 5 stars through the flaps of the tent, and the "tankies" are always happy to look after the ladies
