A host of Australian celebrities joined the the capacity crowd of 3200 at UCLA including Federal Treasurer Peter Costello, former National Party Leader Tim Fischer
Must be exciting for the boys to mix with celebrities such as these.

Regardless of the scoreline (.. yes I know we hate losing to Norff) at least there were no injuries.

Let's revisit the situation ... in Canberra ... shortly.

          Swans find positives in loss

"Lyon said Nick Malceski suffered a corked thigh and Sean Dempster corked his shoulder, but otherwise the Swans were none the worse for wear."

            Phew.

Didn't Hall and ROK strain their eyes the other night?

"13.8 (86) to 6.2 (38) - in the exhibition match" - bit of a contradiction in terms - less than 20 goals in an exhibition match. Hardly an 'exhibition'!

It's actually the super of the future. Former Reserve Bank governor Bernie Fraser joined the Australian luminaries who packed out the 3000-seat stadium (well, park), leaving no room for the tens of thousands of residents of South Central LA who had camped out overnight in the vain hope of scoring a ticket.

At the time of writing, Bernie had refused to confirm or deny the above report.

We lost! Wow, what a surprise. I'm getting used to these pre-seasons...

But the funny thing is, when we have our usual slow start to the season, it probably will be mistaken for a premiership hangover! (edit - looks like it already has, saw Gerard Whateley's comment mentioned in the other thread. )

Looks like another year of flying under the radar then...is that another flag I see off in the distance...

To be fair, Gerard did make his comment with a fair bit of his tongue firmly in his cheek. (difficult to be sure though...it was on radio.)

While the ground was 150m long it was only 115 wide. It might have been a good idea to drop the wings. it was interesting to see the players bring the ball right back into play after a point. A good day for footy all in all. Iknow most of you hate this sort of thing, but it's really a good thing for the promotion of the game.

Any loss to those Scum is a bad loss - regardless of who played and who didn't.

However, at least I can console myself until the next match (Essendon at North Sydney Oval - 32 days and counting) by swigging another beer from my replica Premiership Cup.
"It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

                            YOU BETCHA!!!!!!
