    Goodes on JJJ

This morning I heard Adam Goodes being interviewed on JJJ as I was waiting for the top100 to begin. He had just participated in the Cleansing Ceremony with the Aboriginal community and carried a baton near Mrs. Macquarie's Chair.

I was really really impressed with the interview. His public speaking skills have improved dramatically and he was able to speak openly and frankly about his fellings about Australia Day as an aboriginal.

He also spoke about the Swans, but it was his thoughts on his place in the Aboriginal community that really impressed me.

If this is the calibre of non-captain we have there are obviously a lot of impressive people in the team.

I almost thought there was a hint of political ambition in the manner in which he conducted himself.

I heard him interviewed by Virginia Trioli this morning on ABC 702 and also thought that he interviewed well. He came across as such a nice, decent bloke.

hey Cruiser.....Thanks for that. I was confused by a change of stations by other people in my house. It was that ABC channel and they were in central Sydney rather than the JJJ BigDay Out thing at the showgrounds. I'm just a simple country folk.

On Bigfooty, the Sydney board, I volunteered to report on Goodesy during the year. My homework has begun.

I didnt mean that as a correction - I just thought he'd had a busy day of interviews.

Adam Goodes is in fact on the board of advisers for aboriginal issues chosen by the prime minister after the scrapping of Atsic so it would not be a surprise to see him take an active role in the political scene somewhere down the track.
He certainly has some fine qualities and is a great example for young australians black and white alike.
            cheers Ian

I thought I'd read a couple of years ago that he was interested in politics in the future.

He is a fantastic role model. Very much admire him, always interviews well, plays like a champion - he always tries even when his body is falling apart (I know there are those who disagree with me) and he believes in the footy gods - what's not to like!

I reckon Goodesy is great...for me he could have captained the Swans this year and beyond. BTW I'm glad that I don't have to suffer listening to Virginia Trioli any more...hope she doen't drive anyone in Sydney to suicide or drink which ever is worse for you.

Given you're still posting I take it she drove you to drink?

I quite like her myself although I'm only an occasional listener as I'm usually at work when she's on.

Yeah...Pepsi Max by the slab...My biggest beef with her was at times she appeared to be extremely biased. Most ABC commentators will play the devil;s advocate against both sides of an argument...she would only do it one way, as long as it suited the side of the argument that she agreed with.

Yeah ... the "bottomles pit" that was ATSIC. Goodesy has got to be the bargain of the century in exchange for that $1bn bottomless pit! Politics? Yes, he'd be one of the best. Let's hope he is as gifted in that arena as the one that we have enjoyed.

Yeh, but he doesn't pull the birds like Nick does. Well not that we hear of.

Speaking of Nick wasn't one his main reasons for wanting to go back to Sydney to be with his girlfriend. Gee I'm glad he is a good liar.
