best moment ever....I had a picture of this laminated on my desk for years...everyone thought I was mental but it just showed how tough of a barst*rd he was and why he will always remain one of my fav players
what about when Plugga (when he was a saint) against the swan player and cut his entire schnoz right open (and then did a replay in fun on dentons live and sweaty the following week in reenge.)

can't think of his name for the life of me...
that would have been Peter Caven - hmm Plugger was the most hated man in footy that day - then he became a Swan and all was forgiven!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I remember seeing the Osborne injury on TV, it was scary to see and certainly as graphic as Nathan Brown's last year, only Osborne missed 18 months of footy (IIRC) and it appears Brown will be back in round 1.
As for that one win in 1993, it remains my third most memorable victory behind the Dream Come True in 2005 and Plugger's Point in 1996 - yes even more so than Nick's Night against Geelong.

Now I may be wrong here but I am quite sure that Richard Osbourne did not miss 18 months of football through that injury as a matter of fact in our 1 win which I think was over Melbourne in 1993 I think he starred kicking a stack of goals 9 or 10 from memory as I said feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
cheers Ian

Awww almost not! I was 10 years old and sitting in the O'reilly stand that day (back in the days where you could progressively shift further and further back in the stand to avoid the sun, and all other 100 occupants were doing the same!) and this one bloke with a booming voice started a "Lockett's a Walrus" chant and boy did it get going!
I was FURIOUS when I heard we'd signed Plugger - I almost didn't follow the Swans after that (I was young and stupid ok!) but went to the first home match in 95 (when Plugger had stomach ulcer problems and didn't play) and realised I couldn't miss footy even if we did have a thug on the team! Thankfully plugger turned the corner, became an (almost) angel, and of course all was forgven!
And I do remember the Richardson incident - the noise of the crash as he hit the fence was awful!
I haven't missed a home match since mid-94, but am rather disappointed that work commitments will drag me away from at least two matches this year

The headclash(v geelong) cost Osbourne 2 matches and it was and he kick 10.2 goals (from 12 kicks v Melbourne). Osbourne missed about a year with a knee reconstruction, That happened at Artic Park against the Pies a few years before ('89).

I've been a supporter since 1990 and the Caven incident was definitely a stand out. I remember going home after the game and burning a "footy card" effigy of Plugger.
He started to win me over after a game at the SCG against Fitzroy in 95. Plugger charged in to protect a teammate and almost flattened a few roy players. And of course he kicked more goals than any swan I had previously seen...

I thought that game - ie where he kicked 16 straight - was at the Whitten Oval.
