The Cats game was won by some brilliance (and luck, you've gotto admit the last one was lucky) off the boot of one person, some desperate work pushing the ball forward by the midfield against a tiring opponent, without some of their big guns.

The Essendon game was won by some great skill by a few and that change of play by Kelly to Maxfield to Lewis, changed the face of the game. Of course and there was that point where no one breathed for a minute or so. The Bombers fielded a pretty strong team, inlcuding Hird, Wanganeen, Harvey , O'Donnell, Fletcher, Wallis, Misiti, Alessio, etc.

While both games will live strong in my memory, as fantastic wins, I guess the '96 one was a huge win, coming off 4-5 very very ordinary years in a year where we surprised everyone and were not expected to win, it was more hope. Where as the cats game we were expected to even though the cats got a little bbit of a jump on us. and when Johnson got his goal the game was pretty much over, until .... you know the rest.

We were sitting behind the Bombers cheersquad in '96 - and they were giving all up us hell because they managed to get infront - then the tide turned and the last minute when Plugger did the business. It was an amazing thing to watch and the feral CS memebers were stopped in their tracks.

it was a great night - but I still think the Cats Semi Final wins it for me. Davis was a freak that night - he was the one who got the Swans to live and fight another day.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Since I probably was too young too remember the '96 Final, I'll go with the SF against the Cats. I nearly had a heart attack that night and I was only 14 then...

                      Hmmm.

                      A tough choice.
Although my emotions during the '96 PF were somewhat clouded owing to my drinking a tequila slammer every time the Swans scored a goal, I do remember celebrating long and loud.
Some bemused friends who didn't follow the code thought I was a bit off my rocker.

But the Geelong Final last year had me sober, working back late and hearing the half time score and merciless teasing by my colleagues.
The drive home during the 3rd quarter gave me some hope, and I had a feeling that we would come back.... as I kept telling my non-believeing co-workers before I left.

The last quarter was incredible. My husband and I were on the edge of our seats, jumping up and down.
ND's last goal was amazing and I displayed the Swans flag proudly and prominently in the staff room on the following Monday.

Have to go with the Geelong Final.
