How long will the streak last?

    How long can it last???

I reckon we can win against the Roos. The Richmond game will be tough but winnable. If we get through it, I think we can account for both Essendon and the Dogs. Then it's Port in Adelaide... I reckon it will stop at 8!

hard to win 8 in a row in the modern game. But the most exciting thing at present is the form of some of our youngsters.

Maybe Barham should be getting a pat on the back after all.

      err.. er...

"just taking it one week at a time"

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Well we only have to win every second week or seven more and we'll almost sure of a finals spot.

Well we have done the hard work in the previous rounds, now it is time to win the matches "we should" win, and winning against geelong was a good start. We can really go along way to setting up a finals spot in the next month.

God I hate that. 12 wins is all you want to aim for. Why not aim higher.

Constantly set your aim high. Why not aim for top two. Look who is ahead of us.

Richmond, West Coast, Brisbane and Port. Only 6 or so weeks ago the whole world was laughing at Richmond, this time last year no-one dared suggest that WCE were a genuine finals contender, we always match up well against port, they hold no fears for us, and we have already beaten Brisbane.

Why just aim for the finals, aim for the bloody top of the tree I say. Mediocrity is no longer good enough.

DrJ, I tend to agree to a certain extent.

I'm not ready to come out and say that we should be looking at a flag already... but we have a somewhat friendly draw, and I see no reason why we can't aim for 15 wins and make the top 4, then have a real dip.

I think our biggest tests will come on the road. What denies Fremantle from being an absolute exciting powerhouse is their inability to win on the road. Would they have EVER won two in a row on the road?

"Road warriors" are the team most likely to take a flag. The Weagles were "road warriors" in the their premiership years and so were the Lions.

When you're hosting a team and still fear them as though you were the team on the road, then you know you are hosting a potential premiership threat.

When the Swans make their mark at Manuka, the MCG and AAMI Stadium, then we will have the respect of the rest of the football world and the fear instilled in our opponents!

I think that the swans should win the next 4 games.

Last week the Roos had to travel to AAMI stadium to play Port and now travel to canberra this week - 2 weeks travelling can't help even if manuka is a home game.

Richmond travel to Subiaco this week to play West Coast. A long trip to WA should take a lot out of them and would help the swans when they meet in Melbourne the following week.

Essendon play West Coast in Melbourne in round 10 (The Swans play Essendon in round 11). Usually the games between these two teams are a good tough game (after the jacket waving incident in the nineties) and I am hoping that would help to slow essendon up prior to travelling to Sydney the following week.

The Doggies play West Coast at Subiaco in round 11 and then have to travel to Sydney for their home game against the swans.

IMO it is good for the swans that the next 4 opponents are Victorian teams, 3 of which have to travel the week prior.

It has to be a good thing for the swans that 3 of these games are against the Eagles who are playing well this year.
You might think that this is BS but IMO the Swans are capable and should win these games regardless of the travelling for the opposition

The swans should be 9 and 3 at the end of round 12!!!

I didn't mention that Port will be travelling to Launceston to play St Kilda the week prior to playing the Swans in round 13 as the Swans travel to Adelaide to meet Port, this might also have an effect in that match.

10 and 3 then is it?

that would mean that we would have to be pretty close to top of the table with that record

                              whats the remaining 9 games?
