    O'Loughlin: Finished?

Can MO'L kick more than 30 goals this season. If he cannot, can he justifiably hold down the FF position? Are his silky skills and elegant assists enough in the modern game?

        Micky is still a gem.

I wonder how long it'll be till we get someone as good as him again.

O'Loughlin remains one of the players that I go along to watch. I don't see any reason why we should expect him to fall away this year. By all reports, his knees are in as good shape as they've been for the past couple of years.

He kicked over 50 goals last season, admittedly including finals but having missed the first handful of games. I reckon he can do the same again.

If Magic played any further away than FF he probably wouldn't be productive enough, in the goal kicking sense.

I agree, his maximum range seems to have dropped to little over 40 metres, so he'll need to stay close to home. And we may see Richards spend some time on the forward line. Perhaps we may see a forward line like this

                FF Schneider SuperTed MOL
With MOL pushed into a pocket, in general I think he handles acute angles better than distance when shooting for goal.

A class player who still has plenty to offer, but IMO mental weakness is a major issue and has to be addressed for the big games.

He is easily put off his game when really targetted by his opponent ala the GF. Having watched the last quarter again last week, it reminded me that he should be the most relieved man in the team after wasting so many goal scoring opportunities at critical times (yes, even luckier than Ablett as Ablett only cost us one goal).
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

Agreed but what that last qr also demonstrates is that Micky is one of the hardest players in the league to match up one on one - he may be the best contested mark in the comp coz if he gets his hands on it twice he almost invariably marks it.

And lets not forget how brilliant his goal assists are! The guy makes more goals for his team mates than anyone else in the comp IMO
And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!

He still has a couple of good years left.

If Baz kicks 70+ and we get 30+ from MOL, ROK and say Schneider then we're doing well.

Magic will have two good seasons this year and next. His skills, goal assists, goal kicking and on-field presence make him a dead cert.

As I said to the old man at the game who wanted Magic off in the last qrtr, even if he was missing set shots on goal at least he was marking the ball, keeping it in the forward line and away from the grubby hands of the Eagles defenders who could have initiated the quick rebound and goal.......

                            Lateral thinking there from cressakel.........

In all fairness to Magic, he took some greats marks in the last qrtr but just didn't convert however, Ablett's was a king @@@@-up of epic proportions usually associated with Under 10's football.
Well somebody told me, You had a boyfriend, Who looks like a girlfriend,That I had in February of last year, It's not confidential, I've got potential

Somebody told me, The Killers, Hot Fuss, 2004.

If an Eagles player had passed across goal and it had been intercepted by say MOL, you would all be saying what a brilliant intercept it was. When you look at Lukes pass, it was nothing more than a brilliant intercept. Get off his back unless you can do better.

IMO MOL cost us way more in the last quarter than NOG, but we still won, so it really doesn't matter.
