Aftermatch report please?

Just watching the game now as I was at the Under 11's game where mine and DrJ's kids kept Romsey Lancefield scoreless today.

Great game, by all, so far only up to the 2nd quarter, Jooba had a great game.

Anyway, can someone provide us with an aftermatch report.

Got a couple of quick suggestions, Luffy...

With a couple of the ressies doing the raffle ticket thing at the aftermatch, is there any chance of grabbing one or two of them for a quick interview? It might be good to have a short report on the reserves game, as not everyone gets to the games in time to see the whole early match. I know I'd certainly like to hear how the younger kids + players coming back after injury etc are going.

The music during a couple of the segments was a little loud - no real biggie though.

I liked the questions from the audience (did Bron bring her own mic? ) but understand it's not the easiest thing to organise. Would it be a worthwhile idea to invite people to write down some questions at the start of the function once they know which players are turning up? Have a clipboard with paper at the front or something. This way, you can choose the best, most appropriate questions and can move through them in a quick, efficient manner. Also, this solves the problem of not being able to hear the speaker when throwing open questions from the audience.

Good job so far this year though (as expected!)

This is a great idea Des .... it would give those players the chance to become more familiar with doing this sort of stuff and add some more swans stuff. It might even get a bit of enthusiasm going for the reserves game.

I think we should all also make an effort to chat to these players. They've all said to me that they are happy to talk to the fans. Selling raffle tickets is not the most exciting task in the world though, so we could make it interesting. Also, it helps if people know who they are ... I know you say that they are selling raffle tickets Luffy, but maybe if you can repeat it a couple of times and point them out? (I'm also thinking here with my Redback hat on!)

Well I enjoyed the player interviews! It was a bit disappointing that we didn't get more people to participate, nor to ask a few questions. But I think I held my end up! Always happy to do this ... and because we're always there for both the AM itself and the Redbacks raffle (my husband is President), I'm always there. (And I've still got a question or two up my sleeve!)

This year, I feel that I know so many more people at all the Swans functions and as a result, they all seem so much better. It's really good to be able to wander around the room and chat to many people.

We could also take questions from people on this site?

Finally, Luffy thanks for the plug for RWO! I was talking to some people and they said what's that? So I got to tell them, so it was a great lead in.

I'm not sure yesterday's match is the best one to get the feedback from as a lot of people left early to avoid the traffic clash with the league next door, plus we were all kinda flat anyway.... *damn rainy-like weather* It was good as always, but I think at the next one, if there are a few more people, there should be a bit of a bigger response. Good job as always though, luffy!

Ummmm ... it's now tuesday night! I'm not a good rememberer ... I have to take notes when I do my articles!

Luffy asked Steve Malaxos about the injuries and about the time that the coaches decided not to show up to watch the "leadership" of the players.

Luffy asked Jude if he was single and he said yes. He also followed up on the Malaxos question about leadership and Jude said that they'd guessed because there was some comment about leadership being focus and after hanging around for 10 minutes they just got into it.

I asked Jude about when they do a smother .... figure it takes real guts to run onto a ball just leaving the boot with full velocity (well whatever is the right term). I specifically mentioned "that smother" and he didn't even remember it! Said which one .. well the one near me! Anyway, he said it's just like taking a knock, tough and hard.

I asked about what has changed, why they are more focused etc.. standard sort of answer.

I could have gone on and on .....

Didn't get to my second question .... which was about how they seem to have changed in coming back into the rooms after the game. Until last week, they never seemed to acknowledge the crowd (now I know why this might be the case with a loss!) but it always seemed odd to me. Now they are acknowledging the crowd and actually seem to enjoy being part of the win. I wanted to know what had changed, but I ran out of time!
