Great to see Roosy in good early season form however - starting the cat and mouse with Sheeds 6 weeks ahead of the first Home and Away.

For some crazy reason I go to this every year with a heap of friends, drink heavily, watch little of the game, never know who wins and then go out and finish the job at Cammeray.

Think I just like to hear the footy smack against the boot and know that the real thing isn't far away.

Cricket has been a yawn this summer, tennis ditto, Jeff Fenech's Gold Watch Band Fight Nights have been quiet, A-League was missed completely, Premier League is a fizzer, Kings are winning again...nothing takes the place of fantastic Australian Football League at its best!

            Bring on 31 March!

I'm going for the first time on Friday night.

I am now going to emulate the antics of TheHood, a seasoned veteran!

I'm actually glad Sheedy's bringing up his First 22. I can't wait to see them roll out the TV and the DVD player attached to a REALLY REALLY long extension cord at each break so that Matthew and the team can hear Matthew's rev-up each break!

I'd go just to see the Japanese player on the Essendon team. I forget his name, but they were just talking about him on Vega FM (in Sydney).

I'm willing to wait til round 2 to see the Swans in full swing.

No-one really goes for the game though you do get to see the youngsters in action for the first time.

It's a good social event, a chance to get together and kick off the season. Moving around is easy.

Roos is on a winner, here. If the reserves win, or if they put up a good show, then he has won the mental battle with Sheedy over round 1
