    game raffles

can someone please tell me about these . Like, which one we should support, who gets commissions for sales, etc
I am happy to buy tickets for the junior development or other worthwhile footy causes but i get confused when harrassed and am reluctant to buy from people that are too pushy and are getting large commissions.

Yeah, true. There are so many bloody raffles running around im trying to decide who to buy off if at all
    - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

I don't know where the "junior development" money actually goes but over many years of association with junior footy I have never heard of any of it actually reaching a junior club (ie grass roots level)

I suspect most of it goes towards the Rams. Most of the development focus is on the "elite player" programs.

The game day raffle (ticket sellers on the ground) is supposed to go to Junior Development, but I don't know what that means.

The After Match game ball raffle (tickets sold by a couple of reserve players and Redbacks) is run by the Redbacks and the proceeds are going to player facilities. At the moment, it is yet to be determined whether this will be computer facilities for the player learning centre or for memorabilia for the players' lounge. As the tickets are sold by volunteers, all proceeds go to this.
        Dream, believe, achieve!

Thanks Bron but do you know anything about the other raffle(s) that are being run before and during the game? I would doubt if the collecters are volunteers and i'd like to know where the money is going....and how much after 'commissions'.Most of us are piddled off by being continually harrassed by pushy collecters everywhere.
i might well be doing these people a disservice if they ARE volunteers and , even if they get a cut, i still will support any cause that helps our game.....it just would be nice to know .
