    our midfield

Our Midfield is falling asleep during games, which in turn is placing extra pressure on the defence.
    Any comments?

I don't know if I would call it 'falling asleep', but I would agree that in the last 2 weeks, during the 3rd quarter we have really struggled to win the ball out of the centre and that is putting pressure on our defence.

It just shows how vital winning the centre clearances is, especially with the way that teams do tend to push players back behind the ball to defend. A win out of the centre means a much more open forward line, and even if we don't get a score, it means unless the opoosition break very quickly, there is the opportunity to push a couple of guys back to lend a hand.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

There are definetly lapse during the third quarter. Maybe it is a result of they hard running came now being employed.

A quick clearance to our forwards is great as even if they don't get the ball they do put good pressure on the defenders. Don't you just love BBB's tackling.

I think your being a bit rough on the Midfielders, i think they've been one of the main reasons that we've won the last 4.

I agree that the improved form of our mid fielders plus the emphasis on the running game has been the difference between winning and losing

Whether it's coincidence or not (as mentioned on another thread) this has tended to coincide with periods the stars and vets have had on the bench or "resting" up forward or down back. We had all four rookies on the ground for a fair slab of the third q. last week. That's got to be contributing somwhat.
