Looks like it was the latter.

Odd, I thought he was great! Mind you, I was only watching out for our senior listed players, but he oozes class. Built like a twig though.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

McVeigh is one for the future and should get a game this year unless we have a major injury crisis or his form is too good not to play him
          Once was, now elsewhere

McGlone was good, as was Bevan. Funny, I might just be biased but I thought McVeigh and Dempster showed a lot of promise - both weren't mentioned in the best lists

Again, the disclaimer that I was mostly trying to keep an eye on the senior listed players

McVeigh was on crutches in the lobby of the motel in ACT yesterday. I didn't speak to him. John Longmire and ?? Peter Johas?? were speaking with him. (Did look too good) Didn't hang around to find out what and whens.....

Should be out for a few weeks my guess.....

hopefully just precautionary - IIRC he walked off the footy field on saturday.

I agree with des, and also put up the same disclaimer! McVeigh will be something good in seniors when he bulks up a bit more - atm a good bump and they'd be picking up the little pieces to carry off on a stretcher. Dempster was doing something right - the calls of encouragement and congratulations for various things off the bench (bother players AND officials) were very noticable on many occasions.

Tuggeranong were a physically tough team tho - probably a very good hitout for a few of them!

Also, Josh Thewlis came off with a bit of hammy trouble, and did go back on but did need a bit of on-field stretching and assistance a couple of times.

How good is McGlone? I have noticed his name in the best few the past few weeks. I know he was on our rookie list last season, and I assume we have kept him there for a reason.

Is he any good? Where does he play? (position?)

Some of the team are made up of players from other clubs, like the Redbacks last season.

So I would imagine he'd be one of those.
Unless the great Derek had a run...

Perhaps a relative? If DK was at the game... would make sense.

DK... the memories... of sheer brilliance.

It was Phil Kickett (not sure if theres any relation).

In the Canberra Sunday Times it had a report on the match which said :

Swans midfielder Jarrod McVeigh was the difference between the sides.

He ran freely and dominated possession in the tight affair.
(ps can't link cos it's not online).

So i guess he played alright
