Yep, I want to know how much North paid those orange maggots?

Maybe the maggots were simply sending Roos a message: don't try and tell us who we should be paying free kicks to, boy.

Eade had a good saying on the umpires: "If they don't get you on the jungle gym, they'll get you on the swings". This was first heard after a game in which we were (seemingly) punished for commenting on the umpiring of the week before.

Very sensitive creatures, maggots. Musn't touch them on the field, or publicly challenge their authoritah either.
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

So redunderthebed by your response to me you are stating that umpire Goldspink is deliberatley against us and bases his decisions against us because we are sydney ?
Honestly take a second to listen to your own comments and then hopefully you will realise , frankly , how rediculous your comments are.

We always know when Goldspink is the umpire ... I agree he does seem to be harsh on the Swans (even when we win).

Nash hasn't been umpiring for a few years ... he used to work with my husband. He was a really nice guy actually and did NOT have anything against the Swans.

Throw in the burley and they will come......
Yep, I do believe Goldie don't like Sydney (and certain other teams) BUT, i am prepared to accept that he is just incompetant and is a 'media lair'?MAYBE.
I believe someone else on this theme questioned his statistics when umping Swans games but I doubt if this would be available....BUT it would be very interesting! Nonetheless, you might, quite correctly, argue that the Swans hierarchy would have made appropriate representation to the head of umps. if they think he is a problem. No doubt they have!
I don't think that this is ridiculous, do you?
OH, I re iterate, the umps did not cost us the game.

Well redunderthebed you seem to talk up my point and yours in the one paragraph, well done , try to accept the differing opinion to yours, because the differing opinion to yours holds far more weight. And if you still think that Goldspink is against the swans, well I can do no more.

Well Bron, if he worked with your husband AND he is a nice guy AND when you asked him he said he didn't have anything against the Swans, we'd have to take it as a given, would'nt we.

I mean, he would tell you if he had a set against Sydney, would'nt he, being a nice guy and all??

Hate to own up to this one BBB, but I am related to the Mark Nash you refer to. (Its fairly distant, but not quiet, as obscure as my aunties, fathers, grandsons, nephew, connection if you get my drift)

Have always thought he has umpired OK against us, and just as an indication as to where his sporting allegiances may lie, when the umpires were first asked to pick a number they would like to wear, he chose 14. (On this side, the family is all Red & White and has been forever)

Don't get me started on Dore and Goldspink. Clueless filthy maggots. Always look to penalise us, although Dore had a brain fart when he awarded Cressa that infamous free kick last year against North.

Mmmm, no wonder you hated to own up to it!!

I have vivid memories of Nash doing us NO favours over the '96 finals series. He absolutely slaughtered us in the semi against Hawthorn. Just as well we were way too good for them regardless.

Funny though. You obviously would have looked upon his umpiring a little more kindly than me and others, thus seeing lots of positives. He was all-Australian ump that year, or the next, so he must have had some redeeming features, even for an ump.

I suppose it is like when you go to a game NOT involving the Swans and you have no real care who wins, it is amazing how you look at incidents and think, 'WTF are they screaming at the umpire for, that was a good decision'.

Fanaticism towards you're side certainly plays a major part in determining an umpires performance.

PS. Mark, he's still a maggot to me

Mark Nash had NOTHING against the Swans... I remember he was umpiring in the '96 GF. In the parade, he responded to some abuse by some Kangaroo fans by pulling out a little Swans flag, waving it at them and shouting Go Swans!!! Certainly shut them up.

I seem to recall one of the worse umpires as far as the Swans were concerned was Bill Deller. He seemed to absolutely hate us.
