    3 goals...

In all of our defeats this year we have been within or around 3 goals behind our opponents at some stage in the last qtr, so just like today, even though we have played really poorly to be so close is a positive and has proved so far that we are not going to get belted into submission like other teams have been when the margin is around that mark, which is good for the team confidence and good for the %.

Not sure if it means a lot though. We were within 3 goals of Hawthorn but were thumped in the end by 7. And last year we lost only 2 games by more than 5 goals, but that didn't really help us.

Yeh its no biggy, but our % was 5th best last year and could have come in handy if we were in the race for the finals and its good to see when we are 40 odd points down we dont get beaten by 70-80 points thats all.
The hawthorn game was a bit ugly but no massacre.

Well, just to backtrack on what I said, I think it's great that we haven't been thumped in a while and if we can go through a season without it happening that is a fairly good sign, and good for %, as you say.

I am not too disapppointed about yesterday. There were a lot of young players in that team, and they are not really up to it just yet...they are still learning. Young players will play well when the team as a whole plays well, but with so many, they are found out when the team as a whole has a shocker. And lets not forget that those great wins against last years grand finalists would have taken a lot out of the players, and the fact that we had so many good/experienced players missing-- Cressa, Saddo, Magic. In all my years of following the swans, and boy have I seen some shockers, I honestly believe that I have never seen so many clangers/slipping overs (what stops were they using...moulded soles I bet) and fumbling on the ground as yesterday. In fact it was almost like the good swans/crap swans had returned...the ghost we all hoped had been put to rest. Why the hell did they keep going round the boundary again, to pack marking situations where they were just outmuscled. And another quarter of only kicking one goal (how many times this year is that now?)
We should just forget abaout it...think of it asan abberation.
I now hope that they have got that catastrophe -- the loss they had to have -- out of their system, and can get positive again for the tigers...At their best they are a match for any team...at their worst...ewell, there's another story.
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."
