No, but I can't see any chance of that working out.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Great thought but the Eagles love this guy they have enough room under there cap so no worries about money just come down to the man himself and if he does go it will be to a Vic side.Originally posted by penga
stevens, fosdike and 2nd round pick???

Players like Chris Judd are fine to go after because they are young and still have their best football ahead of them. We shouldn't go for players over 27 unless they are proven stars who will fill an important hole in the team like Lockett did.
We have to be careful with the older players as we don't know how much longer they have left in them and would cost a lot moreOnce was, now elsewhereComment

Penga, we are not that desparate. Our chance of getting him is pretty small. He is good but paying him twice the market rate, you got to me kidding. Btw, how do you thing paying someone that much is going to impact the rest of the team???Comment

well what i meant was that we could pay him twice as much as any victorian team as they will be so tight with their salary capOriginally posted by Newbie

desparation is a little different to recruiting a current gun and a future superstar...
whats against us though is buckley, mercuri and hird all going on to the vets list, i forgot about that

Champion Team is better than a team of Champions...... No "I" in team.... Get the drift.
You have to grow champions not buy them. Rarely does a champion fix into the team game plan and inturn be as good as he was on the other side of the fence.
Grow our own Champs.

If the team is already reasonably talented, adding a couple of champions from elsewhere can make the difference between a premiership and not.Originally posted by Rod_

i can understand this post in regards to aker, but judd? he is still 19! he would suit the hard running game plan of roosy's and would be a great replacement for maxy in the long run... he would in theory have about 13 years left in his legs after we hypothetically recruited him... leaving plenty of time to develop and fit into the side... in 13 years, he could survive two hard-at-it attempts at a flag and two 'rebuilding' stagesOriginally posted by Rod_

i know this is belated, but i dont think you should write off the long-term impact a player like this could achieve... my two cents worth anyway...C'mon Chels!Comment
