    on the couch

did anybody else watch "on the couch" last night?

they had a real good wrap on the swans, nick davis and kirk... they then went on to talk about essendon... and spent a bit of time on them, what came clear to me was that they were promoting the sydney vs bombers game...

i was really impressed by nathan brown as well, he had always struck me as a bit of a prat (while i still admired his game), but he spoke very well and was very humble and i was very impressed by him on a whole...

I agree Penga, it was a pretty good show. They always seem to talk about the Swans which makes a change from most Victorian programs.

I really like Robert Walls, he has good thoughts on the game and is extremely knowledgeable.

They even spent a minute on Tadgh's goal & how far he's come in such a short time on Talking Footy last night.

I nearly fell out of my chair.
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

Yeah, On The Couch is a great show as is Fox League Teams.

Wallsy is a closet Swans fan IMO, he tipped us on Sat Night and had the balls to stick with us with the Tigers were resurgent. The only Melb scribe to tip us for the 8 this year.

As for Mike, his Swans humble pie is fun to watch, it's spread all over his face!

And poor old Gerard, very careful to not seem too biased towards us, but we know The Bloods boil all through his veins.

As for Browny, I saw him on Rex's show about 3 years ago and he was a gentleman even then. He's a good fella and he has just gotten better. He has been my favourite Bully since Wyndey retired.

Actually on Healy do you think he wrote the article on Davis to rev him up because he wants us to do well? What did they say about Davis, I missed this week's edition due to other commitments and forgot to tape it. Did they eat humble pie about him?

Gerard said those things because Nick was not performing and he knows that he is capable of more. They say that he needs to build his "motor" more for next year as a midfielder.

There wasn't so much humble pie as, it was good to see him get more possessions this week, tackle more and well we saw him crack the game open with those 3 fantastic long goals. All 3 had Stew Dew written all over them. In fact Nick and Dewy are similar in that they are both perceived as quite lazy around the forward line when working their way into a season. Dewy hit is straps big time in the second half of last year and became more than the pinch hitter he started out as.

Fingers crossed that this is Nick turning the corner in 2003, kicking those 2 and 3 goals a game as well as becoming a required player, picking up 16 to 20 possessions over a full game.

I will say, Nick has to be one of the best kicks for goal in the AFL. I know there is always someone better but he knows how to kick a "set shot team lifter" (patent pending) like no one else in our current unit.

thanks, Hood, he is a bit lazy though most players without a proper preseason lack a bit in the motor dept.
