    NSW Kids

Here's a good article on the rise of the NSW/ACT AFL talent:

    Swans feather nest

I see that Henry Playfair is also doing very well in the Geelong magoos. He's in the team-best list 4 times out of 8 games (including twice heading-up the list).

At 197cm and 90kg, I think we should really try to bring him home next year before he gets too entrenched down there.
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

penga, that supposes that we'll still be round come draft time...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

dont be so doom and gloom, we will be around!

here are some quotes on playfair: (all from www.gfc.com.au)

"When Johnson knocked the ball over to Henry Playfair for another"

"Playfair who patrolled half-forward for 19 of his own"

"before Henry Playfair finished them off by going forward for two goals in the final minutes"

"Adam Cook and Playfair continued their good touch."

"Cats Coach Ron Watt said big men Henry Playfair and Jeff Smith continue to show versatility and potential, which was a positive from the game.

Playfair was again among the best and Smith showing a capacity to play anywhere from ruck to wing to back pocket."

"Henry Playfair, who has found a new lease of life across half back the past two weeks, with his 26 disposals. "

"?(Playfair) looked very promising. I?d imagined he?d continue (playing there) at least in the short term. We may have unearthed another attacking defender,? Watt said."

"In fine conditions, Geelong opened with Henry Playfair, ........, all over 192 cm, in their forward 50"

"Two goals in as many minutes, through Henry Playfair and Josh Hunt"

There is another local kid playing for Melbourne called Aaron Rodgers. He was taken in the 20's in the 2001 draft.

Played for Australia in the Under 17's against Ireland in 2001

Kicked a bag for the Dees magoos in a semi last year.

There is a thread on him at the Melbourne board at big footy.

It appears that he has not come on this year as hoped.

maybe he is homesick like his fellow St George (sydney) mate ND

If delisted maybe pick him up as a late pick or in the rookie draft
            (he is still young enough)

He was pick #41 in 2001, and seems to be coming along nicely. Would cost more than a 4th round pick.
