    Stuart Maxfield - Fullback

I reckon Stuart Maxfield would make a great fullback for Sydney. Has the pace and strength to match it with the best. His lack of height would pose a problem on some tall full forwards........then we could use Craig Bolton....

    Your thoughts......
Will this be the year !!!!

Sorry, but this is soooooooo wrong.

Maxi is probably the poorest overhead mark in the team.

as a fullback he is tied to his opponent.

his best value is running through the centre and either kicking a goal or setting up a forward inside 50.

He is wasted "sweeping up' across half - back

This is best done by Matthews.

Leo's move to the backline has been successful not only because of his great run off halfback, but he is very strong in the air, and can play tall or short.

I don't like skippers as fullbacks.

Nah, leave maxi where he is

there wouldve been 20cm difference between him and richo on saturday night!

for the small forward lines that are around, ie WC, WB and AC (currently with the injuries) we have the small defenders to cover them anyway... so, i dont know where youd get the idea for maxfield at FB

maxy is either in the middle or on the wing, thats where he plays his best footy
      C'mon Chels!

Nah, we would waste him there. Schneider is a better choice. A lot younger too. Will last for at least 10 more years. Could take the kick-out too.

Yeah, disagree too, but brave point.
He does have a lot of strength and aint scared to bump into a big bloke like mathew richardson. But i think his current position (defensive winger) is perfect for him. He doesnt have to take too many overhead marks there.
Using hypothesis testing via confidence intervals:
Nick Davis mark inside 50 = goal

                  Jeez, poor Tractor2003.

He's only giving his thoughts folks.

BTW Newbie, are your serious about Schneider ?!?!?

What about BBB at fullback. If we got Doyle and O'loughlin back fit, how would BBB go at FB ? Do I recall him playing down back for St Kilda ?

Yes Bart and it was the beginning of the end of Bazz's career with Saints too.

Playing Barry at FB was one of Malcolm Blight's err... not so brilliant ideas. CHF is his spot IMHO.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Nah, I was just playing along.

Malcom tried BBB at fullback for 7 games, I think. No success.

                          None what so ever.

                          Mistake in the first place.
