I saw on the news that Kevin Sheedy was in support of the swans financial situation. He says that we are vital in order to compete with the 2 other football codes.
What a legend.
Using hypothesis testing via confidence intervals:
Nick Davis mark inside 50 = goal
it's been amusing watching the "love-in" bewteen Roos and Sheedy all week. It started almost immediately after the Richmond game.
Roos has been whispering sweet nothings about how great the big man has been for footy in NSW and how wonderful his team is, and how they play here every year at Nth Syd, and how it won't matter who wins this game because everything's just dandy, while Sheeds reciprocated today by saying he "understands" what the Swans are facing, and how much he respects our club and the tough job we're facing bringing footy to this state, and how Roos is clearly the best man to lead the team.
Geez.
Don't know who's playing who.
Kinda makes you nostalgic for the coach baiting we've seen over the last few weeks.
One of the things I really like about Roos, is that he doesn't feel he needs to buy into the mind-game thing. He pretty much just totally diffuses its impact as early as possible and gets on with the job.
Sheedy's only real response to this tactic is to offer the "kiss of death" by heaping praise on the very men he wishes to target (he's already given Goodes some glowing mentions). In the end it's a win-win for footy up here. We either get the approval of one of the greats of the game, or at the worst, Sydney fans can read about some of their stars with their names in lights. All good.
Some coaches live and breathe that sort of stuff...but it can hinder as much as it can hurt.
Mostly it works for Sheedy, especially against his former ass. coaches...Tim Watson was totally cruelled by him in the mental game.
Watching the outcome of the Leigh Mathews vs. Sheedy stoushes, though, you'd have to say Sheedy painted himslef into a corner he can't back out of anymore.

Go right ahead, I still manage to.
