    From White Line Fever

Just heard an interesting stat on White line Fever on Fox

Only once in the last 10 years has a team that has been in the top eight at this stage of the comp not made the eight at the end of the season, and it has never happened to 2 teams.

    Interesting!

Hating Collingwood since I found out they hired a trucky to hit Pratt, robbing us of the '35 grand final

      Woah..

Does that mean 1 per year, or 1 all up? I couldn't possibly believe the latter.

There was a similiar stat on talking footy that at round 10 the top 6 teams really dont miss finals action. Maybe 1 or 2 teams over the last decade have missed, i think it was 1.
I think it was 1 all up over the last 10 years.

          to clarify

at least 1 team has changed (out of the eight)

          but never have 2

          each year

A win on Saturday night would more or less seal us in, I reckon.

Wash your mouth out with soap Charlie!

Then say ten Hail Marys, rub the tummy of Buddha and give a coin to the dancing Ganesh.

Head down to the timber mill and touch as many planks of wood as you can and spend the rest of the season with all your fingers crossed.

That might just cover it ;-)

To the above quotes re teams missing out after Round 10 - missing finals - great but Roos also said yesterday that he felt that 6 wins from 10 was not enough this year as too many teams very close together - all teams competitive.
                Love those Swans

but wouldn't you ay that the comp has been growing more and more even over that 10yr period?

Malthouse said today that the Bulldogs must be the best 16th team in history, the way they've been playing. He could be right. Remember when we were on the bottom of the ladder in the early 90's? How different did bottom teams look in those days? We couldn't kick 22 goals a month, let alone a match.

Right now, we have 1/2 a game on 8th and 1 game on 11th - and Essendon and Collingwood are 9th and 10th. No. This final 8 won't even look close to finalised by Rnd 18! If then.

                  Top four...now THAT'S another matter!
Time to march for the Red and White
