One of my earliest memories of Stuee was the potentially lethal combination of Stu and Kevin Dyson - these two were a big part of the reason why our midfield was HOT in 96 . Dys moved on, but Stu has remained with us through the ups and downs of the years since and has been rewarded for his patience, hard work and clubmanship with the captaincy this year.

250 games is an awesome milestone, and although we know you want the win first up, Stu, have a good few drinks afterwards - you've earned them! Congrats

The fact that you're playing some of the best footy of your career is testament to your professionalism, dedication and resilience. It's no coincidence that the team is performing so well this year, your first as skipper.

I truly hope that the boys recognise your contribution to the Swans with a resounding win. If they play with even a little bit of your G&D, there will be no worries about that.

I noticed at the beginning of the season that they had a captains' photo taken at the G with all the captains lined up. Who were the captains in the middle fighting over the Premiership cup? Michael Voss and our very own Maxie!!

I tried not to read anything into it at the time but, by Jiminy, it just felt sooooo right. I managed not to say anything about it to anyone, but now seems a good occasion to let it out of the bag.

Go Stuie. You are the perfect leader for the Non-Superstar-22-winners-all-over-the-ground-champion-TEAM-Sydney-Swans-2003.

You are the embodiment of all the things that are right with the club this year.

250 games - pffft! There's another 50 where they came from!
