He must have new ones, because he keeps missing the long bombs he was getting earlier.

Although he looks like a beautiful kick of the footy, he hasn't been the most accurate kick I've seen. He kicked 4.5 in the first four games, then a purple patch of 9.2 in the next four and 3.6 in the last three. So for 11 games it is 16.13, which is not great as an accuracy measure.
But still, they are only his first 11 games in AFL so I expect he will learn to take just a second longer on many of his kicks to steady and that will make a huge difference.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football." -
His stats are actually slightly worse than that, because I think he's had at least 3 OOBOTF when kicking at goal.
BUT, has he missed one from a set shot yet? I can't recall him missing one. And a lot of his shots have been highly speculative ones. The thing he will learn as he gets more experienced is when those long shots are the best option and when he should be looking to lay off. All considered, however, I've no complaints about his scoring efforts - those long ones on the run are inspiring, and so what if he misses a few. Comes back to the risk taking approach of the team.Comment

Looks to me like he struggles to land the big bombs from 50+ on the run - like he doesn't seem to take time to settle. I reckon he is deadly inside 30m, and is a great set shot for goal. He will get better. Still hasn't been held goalless in a game yet.
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

The potency of the Swans forward line is looking very exciting and it is a unit that could play together for several years.Comment

Yup - you're spot on. Was in the 3rd quarter I think. I had tried to expunge memories of that game from my mind, and either side of it there has been plenty of fantastic footy to dwell on.C'mon Chels!Comment

but I guess that's my point, sort of. you can usually count on AS scoring one, maybe two opportunistic goals in a game.

I think Davis has the best conversion rate in the team dont quote me on this but I think it is around 20 goals 4 behinds or 21 goals 4 behinds.

The reason he is not as accurate on the run is because other clubs have woken up to him and trying to play him more closely, so he under more pressure now or perceives that he is now under more pressure.Comment
