    nicks in best six

according to the faifax press but ,not to be too critical, i don't think this is a fair assessment. Was not too bad but more likely in the bottom six performers and very unfair on the better players on the night.

I agree - Nicks was okay but nothing great IMHO.

Maybe the Presswriter is infatuated with miss Tammin

Nicks played ok, but top 6 - you are kidding

Ball, Goodes, Kirk, Davis,Barry,Hall & about 6 others in front of Nicks

Please note : I do like Nicks, but he is a bit disappointing this year, BUt apart from the dropped sitter on the boundary was OK

IMHO Nicks is still making too many basic errors and struggles to get into the game, but on the other hand he IS slowly working back into form. I reckon he would have been in our top 10 last night, not so sure about top 6 though.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I've never figured out the "ranking" of players. I can only assume his 2 goals must have added a silly amount onto the ledger.

I DID notice on the replay, though, that Nicks had the MOST possessions of any Swan in that first qtr. So I guess if he popped up every now and then for the rest of the match, he was always going to be there or abouts - especially considering how hard it is for a Swan to get 20 possessions in a game this year!

Thought Nicks was good last night, playing his running game. His best game for the year and definitely in our best 10, don't know about best 6 though.

Top 6????? Possibly top 20 but not so highly ranked, come on.

I just looked at the team stats:

Nicks had 12 disposals, placing him about 12th overall. Add those two goals on top, and you can easily see his ranking going a touch higher....for what THAT'S worth.

Agree with Plugger46, he was among the best 10. Apart from the possessions and 2 goals, he was also one of the leading marks takers (behind only BBB and Ball), was dangerous out wide and his delivery into the forward 50 was excellent.

He used to be my fav player a few years ago but now I prefer he was left out of the side.

He still posesses a beautiful running kick but the consistency is just not there anymore unfortunately.

I think he's slowly returning to a bit of form. Right now his experience more than anything is needed - for some of the younger guys he represents an older brain - he may not be pulling things off perfectly but he's still been there done that more than a few times. I think he realises his future may be on the line this season and he has to respond accordingly. I think atm he is on the right track, but it will probably be a bit of a long process to get him back to top notch stuff.
