Ok but how can we explain that if caro was writing crap in the age about a wallace payment and it was not true - she said she hasnt be sued - so if these were really untrue and damaging which you think they were wouldnt sydney fight caro for defamation or something like that ?

I watched Wilson's interview with Schwab with interest last night especially her interogation with respect to an article she wrote about Shane Bolger!!! Very frosty, indeed.
But my pet hate at the moment is Anthony Hudson.
He is oh so condescending and oh so patronising.
His comments on Fox Footy leave me aghast. His latest revelation on White Line Fever on Friday night when speaking with a journalist Steve Price( who is this guy anyway????) about Colless' comments about the World Cup and him not buying it were breathtaking.
What is this guy's credentials to be commenting on footbal administration interstate in the first place much less his dismissive attitude towards Sydney's predicament.Comment

Maybe the Swans think it would be more damaging and distracting to pursue Caroline Wilson through the courts. It would only reinforce her sense of self-importance and absorb time and money better directed at making sure that the clubs dodgy financial situation improves. Good point Undy . Court cases such as libel and defamation tend to drag on forever and at the moment the Swans certainly have not got the spare money to be engaged in protracted legal action.WMPComment

You linked two things 'untrue' and 'damaging'. They may be untrue but look at the way she wrote the article. Wallace has no action in defamation as he has not been accused of lieing. The Swans board reportedly made a decision to let it lay as just footy talk. They haven't been accused of lieing either. Just stories about a "source' saying Wallace was paid. They might have a claim against her but suing footy journalists is just not generally done.
You just can't sue a reporter for every untrue footy story they publish just as movie stars can't or won't sue publications for every made up story. Doesn't make them true though.Comment
