Don't you just love the "hippie"! Glad Roos finally gave the guy a chance to show waht we knew he could do.

Always easy to say after the event but if this is how the team felt in the last years of Eade......... well that's pretty sad.

The mark of any coach is how he handles any poor performing situation; player, team, staff, whatever. Being able to remove yourself from the situation and take an objective view, consider all suggestions is not easy. Roos had a relatively small taste of it in our 3 game losing streak and has come out smelling roses. More tests will come for him though but so far so good.

I don't think Roos would have been any more concerned by those three losses than any other match this year. He simply went about releasing the shackles and seeing what beasties were locked in Eade's basement.

Even Roos wasn't sure whether Kirk was going to cut it. I had no doubts he could find a role after watching his pressure work in 2001 - his tackling alone almost gave us enough to win against Essendon that year. His 2002 season was a long way off what he was capable of, though. But then again...who in the team didn't have a shocker that year, Willo excluded? Not too many.

I'm sure Eade intimated at one point that he didn't think we had enough footballers on our list able to play at the elite level.

Roos promised cuts, but offered a small window of opportunity. I think everyone who follows this club must be amazed by how many players have leaped for that chance.

Kirk has been a real champ for us this year. With everyones confidence up, it makes you wonder how much Rocket must have yelled at em to have everyone so deep in their shells.

Full marks to Roos for getting the most out of lads so far this year.
IMO he has already sown up the coach of the year award.

Nope. In a very silly, silly decision, the All-Australian coach is automatically the premiership coach.

To nobody's surprise I am a great fan of "captain Kirk"

I saw him play at Campbelltown in a pre season triel in 99 when Micky oO was injured and Dale Lewis broke his arm.

he looked very good that day.

Saw him play a great game against the Roos in late 99 in his first year.

Creesa was used as a tagger in his early years, the become a great on baller in his own right later on

Maybe the same path is being set for one of my favourites

His work in close, tackling and getting quick clearances from the bounce is terrific

I was just wondering is there anyone with a stat for how many free kick the "Captain" has given away for 'in the back' tackles. It would be another example of the pressure he can apply to the opposition.

The most improved and on current form one of our most important. If Kirk can shut down key midfielders week in week out we will go along way to winning most games.Maybe soon Roos may give him a game off and let him do his own thing in the midfield.
