Another big Scalp For "Captain Kirk"

Kirk kept the Dogs No'1 play maker Scott West to 14 Possessions
5 kicks and 9 handpasses - his lowest total for the year by far.

West has a season high of 36 touches against Brisbane.

Kirk had 16 touches against The Dogs himself.

Is there a better tagger in the game ?

Who will he take against Port ?

No there is no better tagger in the game and that is recognised by everyone involved in footy now.

He will get nick stevens for port adelaide.

Has kirk won every tagging battle for the last 12 games ?
It would have to be a record if he beats all of his opponents in every game this year and it is shaping like that.

Kirky was great, he started to rack them up in the 3rd and 4th. I remember his first game against the Crows in 1999. "Hippie" was superb in his first game.

u could argue that buckley beat him with 33 (??) touches, but IMO buckley wasnt effective in that game

IIRC - I'm learning! - Bucks was very very good from about 5 minutes before the end of the third quarter to when Davis kicked the sealer. He got a fair few of his possessions during that period and kick two very good goals. But before then, while the Swans were busy winning the game, he was being pretty well held by Kirk. Many of the possessions he did get were under intense pressure and I don't think he exerted much influence.

Probably a break-even one for Kirky, that game. Beaten in the end on the stats sheet but definitely did his bit when it mattered.

The reason why Kirk is the best tagger in the game is because he is the fittest in the club.......easily won all the pre-season trials.

He runs all day and plays just about every minute on the ground.......not a bad thing when your best tagger is one of the fittest in the league.
Will this be the year !!!!

I love the way our guys are going about their work this way.

Everytime a West, or Buckley, Stevens, of Black gets up off the bottom of a pack they *know* they've been hit..... hard!!

Perhaps more importantly around stoppages we haven't focussed too heavily on the opposition play makers. The 'herding' off the ball of the opposition playmakers can often bring you unstuck. Classic case on the weekend at a stoppage saw a lot of attention on Crawford resulting in a freed up Hawthorn player to peel off and kick a goal. Our guys are doing it much smarter than that and picking up plenty of the footy as well (see Crouch drifting forward for a mark and goal on Satdy night).

No, he kicked three, and I think you'll find it was against North not Adelaide.
It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.
